I tried Osaka House recently and rated it based on my personal 5-star system: Hospitality, Environment, Food Quality & Taste, Cleanliness, and Pricing.
Hospitality — ⭐️ Staff were friendly and welcoming. I was seated quickly and given a menu. When I asked to move tables, they were happy to accommodate me. No complaints here — everyone seemed attentive and kind.
Environment — ☆ The decor is lovely — fake cherry blossoms, wood paneling, and quartz-style tables add a charming aesthetic. But the vibe was thrown off by the music: loud techno (think TheFatRat’s Unity), which clashed with the serene visual atmosphere. It was almost as loud as my speaking voice, making it hard to imagine dining with a group. The space has potential, but the sound design needs a rethink.
Food Quality & Taste — ☆ This was the most disappointing part. I ordered a beef bento box and my partner had the chicken teriyaki. Both meals looked nice but lacked flavor. The beef marinade was more like a soupy sauce, and the salad had uneven, almost scrappy greens. The rice was passable. My miso soup was missing until I asked for it. As for the fire cracker roll — the texture was off. It felt like mush in my mouth, with no real structure or contrast. Overall, the food was mid — not terrible, but definitely not memorable.
Cleanliness — ⭐️ The dining area was clean, and I saw staff wiping down tables immediately after customers left. It felt well-maintained. Only knock: the menus were a bit smudged and could use more frequent cleaning.
Pricing — ☆ The prices felt steep for the quality. My bento box was nearly $20 — more than what similar local spots charge (around $16 or less). You’re paying more for presentation than taste. The food might look good in a photo, but the experience didn’t match the price point. It felt like I paid more than I should have for the whole meal.
⸻
Overall: Osaka House feels like a place that focuses more on visuals than substance. While the staff were friendly and the decor was charming, the experience fell short in key areas. The loud techno music clashed with the atmosphere and made conversation difficult, and the food — though nicely presented — lacked flavor and consistency. For dinner, the pricing felt inflated, making it hard to justify a return visit. That said, I might give it another shot during lunch. The midday menu seems more reasonably priced, and if the vibe is more relaxed, it might offer the kind of experience the space promises.
For now, it’s a 3-star...
Read moreOsaka House Ramen & Sushi is truly a hidden gem in San Bernardino. Located on West Second Street, as its name suggests, this Japanese restaurant offers a wide array of Japanese food using top quality seafood, featuring Ramen and Sushi dishes. The restaurant is owned by Sam Ho and his two cousins, who also have locations in Temecula and Hemet. I’ve visited this place twice so far and, each time I’ve left the place with utter satisfaction.
The interior is beautifully decorated, creating a soothing and intimate ambiance. This is a perfect place for a date night. The maximum occupancy of this place is 60 people. The staff are polite, attentive, and efficient in their service. Despite being busy most of the time, they consistently manage to serve food quickly and competently.
The food they served was nicely decorated, outstanding and so delicious. So far, I’ve tried their Rainbow Roll, Chicken Yaki Udon, Miso Soup, Tiger Roll, and Fantasy Roll. The Chicken Yaki Udon featured chewy udon noodles, tender stir-fried chicken, and colorful vegetables in a savory sauce. The Rainbow Roll was topped with 4 kinds of colorful fish (both raw and baked) and avocado, making it look like a rainbow. Miso Soup was made from dashi stock flavored with miso paste. However, Tiger Roll, and Fantasy Roll were the ultimate showstoppers! These 2 Rolls were Chef’s Special Rolls. The Tiger Roll had shrimp tempura, spicy crab, and cucumber, topped with shrimp, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. The Fantasy Roll included shrimp tempura, cream cheese, and avocado, topped with spicy crabmeat, scallions, masago, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. The food was great. I especially enjoyed the sushi rolls - they were delicious.
In terms of pricing, Osaka House Ramen & Sushi is on the higher end, like all other Sushi Places. In fact, this is an expensive place. However, they have some very pocket-friendly deals, such as Lunch Special and Any Two Rolls served with Miso Soup at $14.99 (served 7 days a week from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM except holidays).
If I had to sum up Osaka House Ramen & Sushi in one sentence, I’d say “Authentic Ramen, Fresh Sushi, and Unforgettable Taste - all in the heart of San Bernardino”! Whether it’s a cozy dine-in night or a quick lunch break, Osaka House Ramen & Sushi brings Japan to your table. If you’re in San Bernardino and craving Japanese cuisine, stop by today and taste...

Sorry if you see the same post on yelp. Wanted to save time and share everywhere. 😉
We visited Osaka House Ramen and Sushi and were genuinely impressed from the moment we walked in—the decor is absolutely stunning. You can tell they put real thought and care into creating a beautiful, welcoming space. Every detail is on point.
We ordered a couple of sushi rolls, the volcano ramen, edamame, and a kids tonkatsu meal. Everything was delicious! The presentation was just as beautiful as the flavor. I also asked to customize my sushi roll, and they had zero issue with it—which is rare and amazing!
The only downside is the location. The area outside isn’t the best, and unfortunately, we were seated next to the window, which didn’t offer the greatest view—there’s a visible presence of homelessness and individuals struggling with mental health, which made the vibe a little uneasy. That said, if you’re seated along the interior wall, you’re treated to a stunning view of their gorgeous decor that makes you forget the outside world.
Despite that, the food and service were wonderful, and I definitely recommend giving this place a try. Wishing them all the...
