We were there last 5/18 before our flight out of SFO. We ordered thru the app as was suggested & paid thru the app too! Kristen our server told us she mistakenly post our order too thus creating 2 charges! How can she do this? The mgr told me he reversed our order so we have to pay Kristen again! I said why don't you reversed Kristen's charged and the mgr told me cause he already reversed mine. This is so crazy! We order one more beer and told Kristen add and close our bill. She gave us the $102.30 to sign (not the detail bill), we thought should be ok & signed it. Then we realized why huge diff between the $69 orig bill vs $102 when the only add'l charge was the beer for $9.99 I asked Kristen for the breakdown of the $102 and at first she claimec once paid she cannot print it again (very suspicious!)! Luckily we saw the bill next to the register and asked why she charged 4qty of beer when we only ordered 2! She said she gave us 4 beers (LiAR!)! We ssid look at our table, there were only 2 empty glasses?! She said she took away the 2 glasses already (LIAR, Unbelievable!!!) Then she said the mgr will fix it, cause she probably realized we are not buying her lies! The mgr said he will fix it. (Thank goodness we arrived so early for our flight that we have time for this BS!). We waited then the mgr disappeared! I went to find him at the kitchen and told him he better fix it asap as we are going to board soon! He said he could not fix in his register and gave us $20 cash for refund of the 2 beers! This really looks suspicious! I said I saw the $69 & $102 charges in my cr card but not seen the credit for the $69! He said it should be posted! Up to niw, 5/21 still no credit of the $69! We are out of the country & be back 5/30 in SFO! I overheard another customer asking the mgr his "refund" as his flight will be departing soon! I wonder how many customers they did this trick on them! I hope the mgmt & owners read this review and I suggest they do an audit, how many "refunds" are being charged as this really is...
Read moreAfter hours of stressful travelling, my partner and I wanted to sit back, relax, have a few drinks and wait for our connecting flight. From the outside, 1300 looked great.
We took our seats, and ordered through the app that was advertised on the table. The barman was chatting to patrons, and it all seemed quite pleasant. Didn't acknowledge us, but that's fine.
After ordering our food (which was extortionate, but not unlike many other bars in an airport) we waited. The barman clearly hadn't noticed we had processed a drinks order, and our food came out. That's fine, mistakes happen. I politely told the waiter that we were just waiting on a few drinks - who then told the barman to get our drinks.
The barman poured our drinks, and thrust an EFTPOS machine at me. It was a bit strange, considering how polite he had been to the rest of the patrons, and I simply told him that we had already purchased the drinks through the app.
He immediately got quite defensive, and asked to see some proof. Again - a strange reaction, almost as though he thought we were trying to steal a few beers - and we produced our receipt. He grunted at it (typically, you'd apologise) and walked away. At this point, we weren't really sure what we had done to upset him, but we weren't going to allow it to ruin our night.
Moments later, a man (who I assumed was his boss) asked what had happened. Loudly, the barman started explaining how it "wasn't his fault", and it was in fact "our fault" for using the app. A little less time socializing, and a little more time spent paying attention and he would have seen our drinks order come through. If you can't multitask - that's fine. Don't take it out on a paying customer who was nothing but polite to you.
THEN as we were halfway through our food, another waitperson started aggressively sweeping at our feet.
We promptly necked our beers, finished our food and left. A terrible experience - anywhere else and I would have demanded our money back. Avoid...
Read moreThe prices and atmosphere suggested a certain level of eating experience, but the reality was very disappointing. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand.
I waited more than five minutes to be acknowledged, despite the fact that I was the only one waiting and there were several available tables. That was just the beginning of the long waits. The server herself was friendly, but I think she had far too many tables to attend to.
This is a place with $20 hamburgers, so that gives you an idea of the price range, which I was fine with. However, none of the drinks/cocktails have any prices listed, which seems bold. I ordered a vodka and ginger ale at a mystery price, only to be told some time later that they were out of ginger ale. This place gives the impression of a trendy pub, but they're out of a staple bar beverage?
I ordered the soup of the day which sounded delicious. However, I never got the chance to find out if it was delicious or not because I was later informed that there was no more soup. It seems incredible that they would be out of one of their few menu items at 12:30pm.
Severely disappointed by now, I opted for a side salad. It was simple and tasty (no choice of dressing) but it took 19 minutes to get after ordering it. It was just a side salad.
As I was writing this review, I overheard the server tell the customers at the next table that the restaurant was out of chicken and waffles, one of their signature "southern inspired" items.
So, if you have a LOT of time to kill, and you have a good amount of money to spend on items that may or may not be available, I suppose this could be the place for you.
I'm giving two stars solely for the server's friendly service despite the restaurant's...
