This was my first visit to Celias, and this will likely be my last. I came here with my wife and her mother, and we were consistently treated with a bad attitude by one of the bartenders by the name of Santos.

During the course of our meal, he consistently responded to our questions about food and drink with a bad attitude and made us feel unwelcome in the restaurant as we sat at the bar. Towards the end of the meal, I was provided with a check with the “tip” portion underlined to indicate that a tip was welcomed. Since I believe in giving despite the service and always tip. However, the tip was indicative of the service. As we were leaving, my wife remained behind to pick up her purse. Santos saw the tip and made a audible “pshh” sound and shook his head in disappointment.

We were disappointed by the service and the attitude of the bartender “Santos”, and unfortunately do not recommend that patrons visit this establishment. It’s clear that the staff does not care for...

Celia's is a local chain with several locations that are close to here. While this one is closest to my home, it's the one I got to least. They serve decent Americanized Mexican food. The service has always been friendly, the prices are reasonable., and there is a bar if that's your thing.

Parking at this location is a bit iffy. The dedicated lot is tiny, parking on El Camino can be a challenge, and parking in the nearby residential neighborhood can be limited. The waiting area is quite small, and there isn't a lot of space outside to hang out if you need to wait for seating.

On the plus side, the interior feels bigger on the inside than on the outside, and the wait's usually not too bad - unless you have a large party.

Overall, not a bad place to grab a...

The food was HORRIBLE. We ordered a chimichanga plate and a steak a la mexicana. First of the rice was old you could tell it was cooked days prior. The chimichanga steak was bland & overly greasy. The steak a la mexicana was asked to be well-done and a medium well steak was served. When we asked for the check the waiver asked “you guys didn’t like the food?” We admitted and said yes !! She pressured us to take it home and said she brought the wrong steak and gave it to another client. The craziness comes in when she asked us “ you guys are not Mexicans right? “ BUT WE BEEN TO PLENTY MEXICANS RESTAURANTS and we know how Mexican food supposed to taste like by the way we are HISPANICS. I don’t even know how they still on business! Such a...

I gave a taco party at San Bruno Celia's. They ?were wonderful in giving us the end room which turned out to be the perfect place to have a get together. We had the brightly decorated room to ourselves at 11:00 in the morning. The waitstaff were attentive and charming. Our server set up the makings for the tacos on a table for us where we could circulate and socialize. Coffee was served to us at a long table where we ate our tacos and talked. It was great to have a charming place for adults to celebrate a birthday. Noses have been disguised to protect the party goers.

Not a fan of Celia’s in San Bruno. Bad service & bad food. The San Mateo location is better. I ordered Albondigas Soup. The chicken meatballs looked & taste like popcorn balls. The soup consisted of 2 small meatballs, 3 carrot slices & 2 Zucchini rounds. There is a small free parking lot on the side of building. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible & so are the restrooms. There is a full bar for drinks. This is a great family restaurant for those who don’t really know what real Mexican food is suppose to tease like.

We were greeted warmly, and with warm tortilla chips. The salsa has just the right amount of heat for me; just a slight sweat on the upper lip. I had the Chicken Tostada Salad. It was fantastic. The lettuce was crisp, the Chicken was savory and complex, the salsa, sour cream and avocado balanced the spice perfectly. It wasn't very crowded at 5:30ish, but there was a lively birthday party going on in the next room. Great food. Fun atmosphere. Oh, my sister had the Chiles Relleno. She gave it two thumbs up.
