So I hadn't been to this Chuck-E-Cheese location since about 2014, I recently saw that they had remodeled it and we're launching a grand re-opening. I was invited to a birthday party at this location in San Bruno so I was expecting something better then what it used to be when I arrived. Back in 2014 when I last visited this Chuck-E-Cheese it was very unorganized, dirty, and the type a kids visiting this location were pretty rowdy and the parents just tend to not really parent their kids if you know what I mean. I much preferred a different location Chuck-E-Cheese which I felt was a much better environment for my kids. So with the grand opening launch again I expected it to be so much better but to my surprise it's still a disappointment. Yes it is a lot cleaner obviously with it being remodeled and all but kind of disappointed that they removed the climbing tubing because it gave the children something more to do other than just keep playing games. To me the games at Chuck-E-Cheese are very boring and it seemed like every other game was basically the same thing just marketed in a different way. Within the first 45 minutes my kids were already bored and wanted to leave but because it was a birthday party I told them we had to stay. But they much rather go back home or better yet asked if we could go to a different kids location other than Chuck-E-Cheese. There's a lot more entertaining kids playing locations being built nowadays that Chuck-E-Cheese is not really where a kid can be a kid and enjoy themselves. I myself used to enjoy going to Chuck-E-Cheese back when I was a child but it's totally different from the Chuck-E-Cheese I grew up with to what it is now. It's disappointing only because it just seems there's really nothing to do other than to play these boring games over and over again just to get tickets and there's just not enough space in this location for kids to really run around and do stuff. That's the thing about the tubing it gave children a place to roam around in and have a good time. now it's just a bunch of games crammed into a somewhat small area. I just expected this Chuck-E-Cheese to be better and actually have some improvements that were worth coming to. as for me I will not be visiting this location again. my kids would much rather go to a public park then to go back to this Chuck-E-Cheese. And they are only a first grader and kindergartener, you would think they'd...

Read moreIt was our first time to Chuck E. Cheese as adults bringing our own little one. The staff were mostly friendly, but not very knowledgeable about their packages, products, and deals. We had to go back to the counter multiple times and eventually got a manager to assist us. There were a few staff that were less than friendly where some people would even consider them as hostile to guests and children. At least the staff that assisted us when we were redeeming prizes was very kind and extremely patient, which saved this review from earning a lower score in my opinion.
The location seemed clean enough, at the very least it seemed cleaner than what I remember when I went to a Chuck E. Cheese 20 years ago. Most of the tables and chairs seemed clean, though I would estimate about 20% of the tables were still sticky and haven't been wiped down since the previous guest had used it.
The arcade selection is relatively limited. I recall this location only had approximately just over a dozen different arcade games and only two of the games were out of order. The trampoline area was locked and had a sign up saying it was closed/out of order (forget which) when we visited, which was a bummer as that was one of the main reasons we wanted to visit a Chuck E. Cheese at the time.
At the moment, we're not likely to return to this location other than to play our daily arcade limit on the Summer Fun Pass to accumulate some e-tickets and we would recommend heading to a different indoor playground type of location if the goal is to play on...
