Today was my last time going to Emelina’s Peruvian Restaurant. Very disappointed with my experience. I had been going to Emelina’s for a couple years now & had referred many friends & family. Today after arriving from vacation I was craving Peruvian food so I walk in & order some Ceviche mixto as well as a Seafood Cau Cau. The ceviche was good as always till I get my main meal & started chewing into a decent size piece of aluminum/metal shaving. I notified the waitress when she seen the shaving she immediately took it out of my hand then proceeded directly to the cooks to explain what had been found in my food. (They quickly disposed of it) I was expecting the cook to come & talk to me however he looked upset that I had brought it up as if it was my fault even sharpening his knife & staring me down on the way to the register when I got up to pay. (Yes I paid full price & even tipped double the tax like I always do). Now I always take images of my meals (Like I’m sure many people do to post on IG or Yelp) & just so happen to zoom in & find the shaving in the picture after the fact. Im hoping that was the only shaving & I did not eat another one, I’ll know if I start feeling sick in the next...
Read moreWanted to try this location several times while in the San Carlos area. So today, we decided to try. We ordered the following: Bistec a lo Pobre, lomo saltado, Pescado a la Plancha, La Chiclayana and to share Chicharron de Pescado. For drinks, we tried their Pisco Sour. The chicharron de Pescado was delicious. Super fresh. Very good. Our dishes started to arrive while we were eating the Chicharron de Pescado, boy. Let me say, their portions is huge. The steak was good but a little too cooked for my husband. The lomo was very tender. The Pescado a la plan ha was very good and finally the La Chiclayana (seafood paella) very good according to my brother in law. The pisco sour is not as strong as Limon and Puerto 27 yet it still wasn’t bad. Mom gave her thumbs of approval for large portions and the lady that helped us was super nice. She was doing everything, from taking our orders, bringing our orders and making our drinks. She was awesome. I would...

We also tried Lomo Saltado (the best in the Bay Area by far and the star of the show), Seco de Res (mouthwatering beef stew with white beans and some veggies and the most delicious green sauce ever), Ají de gallina (shredded chicken in a creamy delicious sauce).
Service is always super friendly, quick and attentive. Always on point.
First review: Outstanding homemade food. Truly delicious dishes. We tried, chicken tamales, steak (bistec a lo pobre) and fish stew (Pescado a lo Macho). All of them were on point. The tamales was the best I tried. On the fish stew I would have preferred more tender calamari, but otherwise fantastic dish. The steak was done at the requested doneness and was very tender. We got some alfajores to go, also incredible good. Service was on point, super friendly knowledgeable and gave us good recommendation for...
