Got out of the hospital yesterday after having a baby and wanted a banzai bowl. I call in the order and tell the girl I want 2 small bowls. We want the bowls that are like the maui sunrise but with pitaya ( I couldn't remember the name as I'm exhausted). The girl rang us up an extra $4.00 for changing out the acai for pitaya. Why would you do this instead of ringing it up for the actual bowl? What a scummy and dishonest company. I attempted to call for the manager, but they don't always have one there. The person picking it up for us had no idea, so it's not like anything could have been said. Asked for one with no blueberries and one with no coconut in or on it (the person it was for is is sensitive to coconut) They put coconut in both and on top of both. They didn't make a new one but tried to scrape out old the coconut shavings as there were some leftover so obviously he couldn't drink it because we didn't know if they added coconut milk to the bowl or not. And they put the Blueberries on the other one. My family and I have been going to banzai Bowl for years, all locations and try to stop at least once or twice a month but this was truly an embarrassing act for this...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Banzai Bowls, and as someone who loves trying acai bowls at different places, I was excited to check this spot out. From the start, the experience was fantastic. The lady at the front desk was super friendly, and when I asked for a recommendation, she suggested some best-sellers. We decided to go with pitaya bowls, and I chose the Pupukea.
When it arrived—wow! I don’t even know how to describe it. It was absolutely delicious! Unlike acai bowls, which I sometimes skip because of their tangy berry taste, this one was made with dragon fruit purée, and it was perfect. Sweet, refreshing, and so satisfying!
I ordered a small pitaya bowl, which cost around $12, and it was more than enough for the three of us to share. Totally worth it for the portion and flavor!
The ambiance added to the experience, with upbeat pop music playing in the background and retro vibes all around. The decor features old-school metal tables and chairs with skateboards hanging on the walls—definitely a cool, laid-back vibe.
Highly recommend checking this place out for both the bowls and...
Read moreI drove here from Laguna Niguel after telling my friend that I was stopping at Acai Republic on my way home to San Clemente. She told me her favorite place for acai is Banzai Bowl in San Clemente. I googled the lication, saw that it closes at 8 and my GPS had me arriving at 735... i thought, Perfect! I get to try a new place right in town with plenty of time to order and get home by 8, when my dads caregiver leaves.
I was surprised to find the door locked and the chairs put up and the employees cleaning up. As I searched the internet and looked at the sign on the door to see if I had misread the closing times, 1 of the young ladies shouted for me to go away!
That's when I decided to leave the review. If they were going to close early, I understand, but wouldn't it be better to come to the door to explain vs screaming at me in an annoyed and exasperated voice?
I gave the food a 3 because I didn't get to try it. The service and lousy attitude deserve a 0, though, if not negative points.
A poor experience with rude employees has me doubtful...
