More Than a Fix: Phones, Computers and Tablets — Local services in San Clemente

I bumped into into a table that I had placed my iPad on moments before, it happened in slow motion. But I didn’t even try to catch it. I was frozen unable to move until it landed face down onto the concrete floor in my garage. It was unstable as the front glass had shattered into thousands of tiny pieces and the whole front glass looked as it it will just crumble if touched. I went online to search for a place that could replace the glass not the whole devise which is what apple does at the Genius Bar. $250 for the iPad I brought in. So I type iPad screen replacement and got a yelp listing with five different local stores in my area, through yelp I requested a quote and the first response was “More then a Fix” electronics repair. Wait time to get the quote was very fast, all five companies replied with a “quote”in less then 5 minutes, More then a Fix was first and fastest so I read their quote. And did the same for all 5 companies.

More then a Fix— quoted my glass replacement on my model iPad @ $129.

The second fastest company had the same price but reading further I noticed that this was a quote for a previous generation of my iPad they did not repair the most current model they did not stock the parts for my devise? Thats a bummer. And since the other three companies did not get a $ amount in their quote. They did not receive my business,

The fastest quote lowest price and easiest to research was More then a Fix! They have 2 location i went to San clemente, they have a shop in the Bank of America building that is in the center of town just south of Del Mar, on El Camino Real. park behind the building, walk to the Starbucks that shares the building also as you approach Starbucks look to your left and you will see stairs to access the buildings second floor. Directly above Starbucks is More then a Fix I walked into the shop and was greeted by the tech that was also working the receptionist position that evening I would not have noticed any differance in customer care or speed of the drop off. She knew exactly what she was doing took less then 5 minutes and before I got to my car I got a text saying my repair was underway. She said i would recieve a couple updates via email. And or text. She said the glass replacement took between 2-3 hours to complete but since I came at closing I would be getting mine back the next day. The hours at this location time Monday through Saturday. 7pm & Sunday they close at 4 im fairly confident in these closing times being correct but you can contact them. At MorethenaFix.com

I definately had a great experience at More then a Fix, they were very friendly professional knowledgable easy to research website they had a small easy to find convenient location, they provided a top shelf service and were an excellent value with competitive price that is hard to beat. and i was so thrilled I also bought a case for my iPad and was still out the door having spent a little over half the price of the apple store and better customer...

Asked them if they could sell me a flash drive with windows 10 so I could reboot my laptop. They told me I would have to bring it in and they would charge me $150 for the service and they wouldn't even sell me a CD copy of windows 10. Needless to say I wasn't about to leave my device with these guys for 6 hours.

These guys are the epitome of San Clemente citizens not knowing their products and what they are paying for. These guys have probably been scamming this town up for a while and will probably keep doing it in the future.

I recommend Housecall Computer Repairs for someone who won't treat you like your nine years old with mommy's credit card.

These guys are local and if you dropped your phone or something they will fix it for a lower price than any carrier store will. But I know for a fact you could find a place that does a better job, faster, in Anaheim or probably even Mission Viejo. Those people who work at malls are just as qualified as these guys.

EDIT: i dont know what to tell you bud. Some young guy quoted me that price there; honeslty i orignally wrote 110 and when i looked up my review of housecall i wrote the price you guys quoted me on their review.

I know your not a Best Buy, thanks for acting condescending about this though, real friendly! Surprisingly, i didnt want to wait 4 days or spend spend hundreds of bucks on a windows 10 copy. I just wanted to pay like 20-40 bucks to have someone run a program. And im not on your guys record? No kidding! Thats cause i know highway robbery when i see it dude. 4/5ths of the people in here are for a broken screen or a wet battery and your telling me one of those apple "fix your battery and screen" kiosks couldn't fix them? Are you actually for real man? And you do it cheaper than them? You sure?

I WILL BE TAKING ANY PHONE REPAIRS I HAVE TO THESE GUYS EVERY TIME.

I had a phone that I took in for repair but could not be fixed due to a hardware issue, a known issue on some iPhone 7s. Guy explained he worked on it for about 8 hours and was getting frustrated he could fix it so they even got a second opinion from the top hardware/board repair expert in the country. During the initial drop off I explained the issues I was having with my phone that I actually had service on, an iPhone 6 that was on its last leg, and they gave me a loner phone for free while they worked on my phone. I had the loner phone for a few days and they called me explaining the hardware issue that couldn’t be fixed, at this time I was getting ready to go out of town and needed a phone. I asked if I could hold onto the loner phone and they explained that was not a problem. Well here I am about three months later finally giving them their loner phone back because I was finally able to get another phone. During the time with the loner phone I cracked the screen on it and was only charged the parts cost to fix the screen when I returned it.

Long story short... They have fixed the screen on three separate phones for me. Super competitive prices. Quick turn around time. Very...
