Adrian's Surf n' Turf Grill — Restaurant in San Diego

I had went in for lunch and got the ahi tuna bowl. I can only describe it as amazing. The tuna was seared beautifully and seasoned properly. It had pineapple, seaweed salad, cucumber, spring mix, avocado and ginger. The chef topped it with his sesame ginger sauce and another sweet drizzle of something. It was so great i literally ate every last bite.

I then went back for dinner with my 3 friends!

1 friend ordered the cheese steak. Which was actually real steak. Not some shredded nasty frozen meat seared on a flat top griddle with grease, i mean actual beef baby. The peppers and onioms looked so good. And the roll i think was an amoroso roll. He ate the whole thing.

3 of us ordered the house burger which is Angus beef, bacon, red onion, tomato, and lettuce with your choice of cheese on a brioche bun with a side of fries, ranch and burger sauce given on the side. The burger was an awesome medium rare as i requested. The bacon was crisp. The toppings fresh. The bun toasted, soft and fresh. The ranch and burger sauce was great.

But the fries...

Omg the fries are from heaven. So crisp and seasoned and inside puffy clouds of potatoe. I would return on the fries alone. And you can get them many ways.

I myself have been sous chef and cooked for some kitchens in San Diego. I am very knowledgeable in the culinery arts. I run my own cafe currently with my best friend.

I am almost entirely certain this is a scratch kitchen. Meaning all the ingredients are made in house with a few exceptions.

I think the biggest and only flaw in this restaurant is its location. If it were anywhere South of the 8 freeway and West of the 15 I believe it would be packed constantly. I hope the people around this location can appreciate it for what a great place this really is.

I mean a quick service, scratch kitchen, serving house made breakfast buffet until 11am I believe, lunch, and dinner, made by Chef Adrian himself with high quality ingredients and presentation???

The integrity and standards of this place are so obvious from the food and staff, I can only tip my hat in respect for what a great gift Adrian has given San Diego.

Needless to say, since i have already had lunch and dinner there in one day, i will be returning for breakfast. Upon which i will update my review.

What a great place for lunch! I wanted to try something new and remembered this restaurant opened recently. I of course opened my Yelp app to look it up and once I saw the star rating and the pictures of the food I knew where I was headed. I then showed a co-worker pictures and he decided to join.

First of all yes, parking is bad at lunch time. Go early and it won't be as painful. This place is a little expensive but it is worth it.

I ordered the Beer Battered Rockfish Sandwich on Brioche. My co-worker a Rockfish taco and the seared ahi salad. My sandwich was amazing. For $9.50 I received a huge sandwich with fries. The fish was hanging over the bun and was even folded up and over itself because it was so large. The batter was tasty and the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. The bun was soft and wonderful. Even the toppings were good. I ordered it without tomato as tomato is just not my thing so it arrived with lettuce and red onion. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and the onions were extremely thin slices. It paired perfectly. The chipotle mayo was wonderful. I loved this sandwich. The portion size was great. I'm a big eater and usually finish my meals, this one there was no way. It was a great deal.

My co-worker who is very critical of tacos fell in love with the Rockfish Taco and loved the homemade flour tortilla. HIs favorite thing was the Seared Ahi Salad. He didn't want to finish the ahi because he didn't want it to be gone. He loved it and said next time he is ordering just the seared ahi. The salad was fresh and had lots of perks like avocado and pineapple.

Overall I had a wonderful lunch and will be back to...

I want among these closer to me! Oh man, the food is impressive right here. We remained in the area and also searching for some great food, this place showed up on yelp. Waking in we were welcomed by Tommy the cashier, offered menus as well as he notified us of his favorite food selection products. Everything on the food selection appeared scrumptious, it was tough sticking to one alternative! I committed to the coconut shrimp because it seemed outstanding. The shrimp is fried completely, wonderful coconutty taste and covered with fresh mango as well as pineapple. It primarily tasted like summer season. The fries that went along were addicting.
