Bale French Sandwich Mira Mesa — Restaurant in San Diego

So I’m always on the hunt for a Vietnamese deli close by. Coming from Washington state and being able to enjoy the international district in Seattle I was very disappointed to see how very little options I had out in San Diego. This place popped up on my Yelp and I had to give it a try! When I saw it it was a Monday so I was pretty bummed but they were closed. I work locally so I figured I would round up my coworkers and see if they wanted to order some Vietnamese sandwiches. We ordered chicken, pork, the combo, and several other dishes. Everyone was super impressed on how delicious it was. I really do you love the fact that they had other options that were grab and go. The cashier lady told me that they make all their food fresh in the morning and once they sell out they sell out! One of the best banh mi shops in San diego! I have tried a number of the sandwiches and liked each one. The bread has an excellent crunchy outside with soft inside. There is a very good distribution of pickled veggies in there, and they provide a balanced sourness to the sandwich. I do think the amount of meat in the sandwiches is a bit on the lighter side, but still provides a good bite. The only part I would change is have the jalapeño sliced thinner and more evenly distributed, I find there's often only 1 overpowering bite of jalapeño in the entire sandwich.

Also, the boba texture is the best I have had anywhere! The Thai tea has a rich, deep flavor, and the fresh fruit blended drinks are awesome because you can still get bits of the fresh fruit!

So good. Best bahn mi sandwiches! I really like this small mom and pop shop. The woman at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. It was also beautiful to see at least three regular customers, those known by name, walk in and have their orders made. I ordered two Special Combination, one BBQ pork sandwich, and a pork bun that was on the counter. The sandwiches were loaded well with meat and fresh crisp veggies, and the bread was freshly toasted, crunchy, and warm. So delicious. The pork bun was a little bland, but satisfying.
