So much fun to spend time in Daiso! This store has so many Japanese household goods, toys, stationery, beauty tools, kitchen items and some additional gadgets that make life more fun. I found some really cute stickers, letter sets, bowls, and even a small lunchbox! If you’re a fan of Sumikko, BT21, Miffy, Sanrio, Rilakumma, etc, you’ll find all sorts of cute merchandise here. No Pokemon products though. After living in Japan for 2 years, I am very excited that Daiso is gaining popularity here in the US. This Daiso location mirrors a Daiso location in Japan but I found myself confused at the conversion chart because ¥200 does not equal $3.75, rather it equals about $1.40. Also found that the other customers here lack spacial awareness and reach past you for items without a single “excuse me”. And they’ll be breathing down your back at the registers instead of waiting at the start of the line.
Been a Daiso customer for years and this is the only location with terrible customer service and overall atmosphere. The Kearny Mesa and National City locations have better merchandise and their...
Read moreThis review is going to be like a short introduction to Daiso.
In Japan, Daiso is a chain brand of 100 yen store, which is similar to the concept of American dollar store. So take Daiso as a Japanese version Dollar Tree. Since it's Japanese version, you will find stuff more corresponding to Japanese life, such as various organizing stuff, stationery, more Japanese style kitchen tools, Japanese snacks, etc.
For people who are looking for "Made in Japan" products, do you think you can find many "Made in U.S" at a Dollar Tree? Also, "Made in China" is of much better quality today. Overall, the quality of the products in Daiso is better than Dollar Tree, but it's still a...
