The taste was alright, but it lacked lamb slices and some other items.
The service was unbelievably poor. We ordered takeout, and the restaurant didn't match our order with the number, so they gave our food to another customer. It was frustrating, but it can happens, we didn't intend to blame them for the mistake.
However, what happened next was truly eye-opening. The server who messed up our order tried to get us to accept someone else's order. "This one is heavier and not spicy" (the restaurant charges by weight). Ha! No, thank you! We chose what we wanted to eat, which was completely different from someone else's order, not to mention that we might be allergic to some of the items.
After making our new selections, she said, "This one is 0.3 lbs heavier than the last one, do you want to pay with cash or remove some items?" And when I chose to pay with a credit card, she asked, "Don't you have cash?" OMG! When I declined to pay with cash again, she said not to worry about the price difference.
At last, we got our food at 12:57, which was paid at 12:14. The customer right front of us finished her lunch and packed the rest, left the store a few minutes ago. And we were just sitting there without any attention from the store, no one was even considering to give us a cup of water.
I can't believe this was a restaurant experience. I feel sorry for the customer who received our order; we ordered pig intestines and frog legs, which were completely different...
Read moreThe quality of the food and vegetables is very nice and honestly the setup is clean and the availability of items is diverse. That’s where the praise ends however. This place is not at all a traditional hot pot place like Hidilao or others- it’s essentially a ‘pick what you want and we’ll overcook it’ restaurant. Similar to a mongolian style restaurant- but it doesn’t advertise itself as such nor indicate it anywhere. If you’re a first time visitor, you won’t know how their setup works, because the employees don’t explain, (and if they do, it’s poor), and there is no signs or guidance. Essentially you have to get 1 lb minimum from their food bar, then you can get an additional skewers for 1.99 each extra (minimum 5), and they don’t quite tell you they’re going to cook them for you- just in case you think they’re for your pot. Then you have to bring it all to counter to be weighed, and then they cook it for you, how they want, to their flavor liking. I was not a fan of this- they overcooked mine and all my vegetables turned to mush. I was hoping this would be similar to Ren Ten where they bring you out the broth on a boiler, but nope. At the price this place costs, you’re better off going to an AYCE bbq or hot pot elsewhere. So much better places on...
Read moreIt was my first time coming to this location, and it was my roommate who recommended it. She tends to come here, and it makes sense why. One thing to note is that it's so good that there's always a wait time, but I can say it is worth the wait. We were seated near the door, which I was okay with because the food here warms you up soo nice.
You create your own bowl of soup, and they have all different types of ingredients you can add from octopus to beef to eggs and all the veggies you can think of. The restaurant is super spacious and quaint with very nice lighting.
There was also a bucket stand where you can choose meat, veggies, and potatoes on a skewer. Everything is seasoned so deliciously, and your food is weighed out, which I think is hownoye priced out, and all of it is so inexpensive. Our table was a total of 3, and we split the bill 3 ways it was about $150. I will say we had a ton of food. My bowl of soup weighed about 2 lbs.
When it comes to leftovers, which i would expect most people to have, they give you a nice container. Unlike other soup places, this DOES reheat well. I did load up on noodles, so just make sure to be mindful of it soaking up a lot of the broth
I will definitely be coming...
