Bird-N-Bun — Restaurant in San Diego

I have tried them three times. The first couple of times, i ordered their Spicy Chicken sandwich and fries, and it was alright enough to give them another the try. The third time, i went with their biscuit sandwiches, two of them, and fries. One had their special sauce, and one without out. The initial taste, from the first bite, was unfortunately, REGRET. It’s a very sweet biscuit, for some odd reason, and fried chicken, which is honestly nothing special. For me personally, the two flavors together, were offensive to my taste buds. Reluctantly, i ate the first sandwich, but each bite was less enjoyable than the last. Took one bite out of the second sandwich, before i gave up, and threw it in the trash. I was HANGRY that night, and then let down by my choice. All i wanted was a soda after, to wash that taste out. I will not be going back.

Edit: I will actually give them another try. I appreciate an owner who stands by their product, and checks in. That is most certainly respectable. It was the grand opening of Bird-N-Bun today in Barrio Logan, I took advantage of their $5 sandwich and $5 spicy strips grand opening deal plus 20% off online orders (if you ordered online/app you get 20% off your total) I got there a couple min before my pick up time and waited like 5 min to get my food (You get a text saying to wait in your car until you get a text saying your food is ready so you can enter the building to pick it up) the parking situation was a nightmare for cars but not for me 🏍 😉 (The "parking lot" was turned into Covid outdoor dining) There were easily over half a dozen cars pulled up on the street with their hazards on waiting (they were that packed) I got a fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries and 3 huuuge spicy chicken strips with spicy sauce 🔥 everything was delicious! The chicken sandwich has a delicious flavor to it, every bite was crunchy and juicy. The huuuge strips were juicy and tossed in a spicy powder that gives it a kick alongside the spicy sauce, it was the perfect blend of spicy and tastee. Ordered buy 1 get 1 free for tenders and fries. I was only given 1 set of tenders and when I asked if there was anything that could be done about it after receiving it, one girl came out 10 minutes later and told me she’d ask. Then another guy came out and after I reexplained the situation he also went to ask for another 10 minutes, rolled his eyes at me when I told him this was unfortunate for it being my first time ordering from them. Not only did I not get my second tenders but now my food is cold after waiting 20 minutes for a No, 3 tenders and a mountain of soggy cold fries. we’re either splitting these three or going somewhere else to get more food but this is so ridiculous I can only laugh.
