Don’t recommend. The food had a strange taste that both my husband and I immediately noticed wasn’t normal. I paid a few dollars more for meat and only received about 2½ small pieces. I ordered the fufu and egusi, but after just tasting it, me and my husband couldn’t eat more—it went straight in the trash. The portion was small, but that wasn’t even the main issue. I’m not someone who wastes food, but this was a huge waste of $50. Also we ate outside, where flys were attacking my food. The table beside us had some type of Mediterranean food and wasnt bothered at all. Also I considered the reviews before going, but wanted to try it out after the 5 star review some random made. Never again. We ended up going to Flavors of East Africa about 10 minutes away instead.

First time ordering. It’s better you order online first since from reading the reviews they only have one chef on duty at a time. I ordered through Uber Eats. I got the Ofada stew with plantain and pepper soup with plantain, but be aware — neither comes with any meat or fish. You have to order protein separately, which was surprising. Luckily, a lady chef from the restaurant called to confirm and kindly added protein (I requested goat meat) at no extra charge. The protein was very small & the food itself was very salty, almost too salty to enjoy. Pickup was easy through their food locker. Overall, an okay experience that seems to depend on which chef is cooking that day.

I ordered through DoorDash and was really looking forward to this meal, but it was hands down the worst I’ve had in San Diego. I got the Ayamese (Ofada) sauce and the suya with plantain combo. The $15 suya combo came with just two tiny, dry, and unseasoned pieces of meat. The plantain was the only decent part, but that’s not saying much. The Ayamese sauce was extremely bland, watery, and only had two undercooked pieces of beef. There was none of the flavor, spice, or variety I expect from African food. The portion size was shockingly small for the price. I honestly feel like I’m owed a refund. I won’t be ordering again unless there are major improvements."

I came from San Francisco for my son’s bodybuilding competition and was really looking forward to treating everyone to a nice Nigerian fufu meal. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing Nigerian food I’ve ever had.

It’s not a sit-down restaurant (which wasn’t clear online), and after paying, I was told Suya Beef wasn’t available. I had to cancel and reorder everything, which was inconvenient. We ordered two sautéed beef dishes, but only one actually had beef — the other was just stew. The Efo with Egusi, Goat Meat, and Sautéed Chicken were all bland, dry, and flavorless. Portions were also very small for the price.

There was none of the authentic flavor, spice, or warmth you expect from Nigerian food. I wish I had read the reviews before coming — I definitely...

Authentic Nigerian Flavors & Warm Hospitality! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had the pleasure of dining at Fufu Lounge, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, eager to answer any questions about the menu.

Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious! I tried Jollof rice, Surya, plantains , and it was bursting with authentic Nigerian flavors. The jollof rice was perfectly spiced, the suya had the perfect balance of smokiness and heat.

Portion sizes were generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a true taste of Nigeria, this is the place to be! I’ll definitely be coming back for more....
