There’s something about deli sandwiches inside a Liquor store that makes it so good!
In Grantville, we are lucky to have one at the corner of San Diego Mission Road & Rancho Mission Road, which I’ve tried. This one is another competitor about a mile away right next door to Fish Grub and across the street from Toyota.
The deli window is located on the left as you walk in the liquor store.
We got the chicken chipotle hot sandwich with grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, chipotle sauce on an onion roll. We got this identical sandwich to compare to the other liquor store. Verdict: My boyfriend loves it better because the chicken was chicken breast vice thin chicken slice. I don’t like it because I don’t like the chicken breast and it was on a roll. I prefer the sandwich bread.
We also got the Aloha San Diego which consist of turkey, pineapple, spinach, tomato, honey mustard, cheese, bacon. Verdict: The pineapple was sliced so thin that I could barely taste it. It was thin as the turkey. There were only two slices of turkey and one strip of bacon. Quite frankly, I forgot bacon was even part of it until I wrote this review because it didn’t stand out.
Overall, my opinion, I like the other deli better because they don’t up charge on all the extra sides and condiments. You literally pick your sandwich for meat of choice and build your own like subway. Here, you pay extra if it’s not part of your sandwich. I also don’t like rolls. There’s an option to build your own. My boyfriend likes it so it’s 50/50, 2.5 stars but I’ll round to 3.
We upgraded one of our sandwich for a meal to include salad and soda. You can also pick soap or pasta instead of salad. We got the crab salad and paid extra $0.50 because it was $3.50 a la carte whereas the included ones were $3.00. The crab salad was delicious and fresh.

Read morePlease do research on service animals. My service animal and I were unwelcome because the manager/owner said we must have an ID besides the vest but with one simple google search, you’d would’ve found this: “Many service dog owners carry identification cards, registration information, or certificates and use tags, vests, and harnesses in order to signal that their dog is a working animal. Under the ADA, these items are not required for a service dog to gain access to public areas and do not confer any rights.” I told you the two things you’re allowed to ask someone with a service animal (1. Is it a service animal and 2. What is it trained to do?) but you insisted on an ID saying your family even has a service animal with an ID. There are scammers all over the internet trying to sell “certificates” for service animals when they aren’t required. You said “anyone could pretend their animal is a service animal.” Take it up with the ADA I don’t know what to tell you. I also heard you talking about me behind my back....
Read moreThe mask issue is a bit out of control at this store. The guy that was in the place did not have a mask on and I walked in wearing one around my neck and he said I needed to put a mask on and I obliged but let him know I had asthma so it was somewhat difficult to breathe. He responded, “I don’t care. If you have asthma then stay home.” That escalated quickly for no reason since my mask was on. I then explained to him that he should probably not say that to just anyone walking in his store because they are setting themselves up for an easy lawsuit when doing so. To which he responded that I was wasting his time.
I forgot to mention that I have been there so many times before and always treat him with kindness. Better places to try with better concern for customers. I suggest...
