We have been to the Champagne Bakery Cafe 5 times over the last 12 years and each time have left not just disappointed, we’ve left POed! Confirming why we don’t go there. Today was the last straw we will never return. I received an absolute terse attitude from the young lady taking our order at the register, like she was put out by us being there. Twice our food sat on the counter until it was cold because it’s the responsibility of the person taking the orders at the register to deliver food to the tables. So if they are slightly busy, like at early lunch today, forget it, your hot sandwich will sit there getting cold until she’s available. Today, the third time, I retrieved our food myself which seemed to insult them. Then, when needing condiments for a once hot sandwich, I had to wait in the line again as the person making latte’s actively ignored me, then pointed to me to get in line again for condiments as they were too busy. While waiting in line, your food gets even colder! if your not going to staff it, why not call out numbers or names and have customers retrieve there own food? Why not have condiments out for self service? Today the food tasted greasy like a dirty grill and the presentation had no pride, see photo. A previous time they lost our order. After waiting almost an hour, I waited in line again to inquire. Although it was the same woman she did not remember me. To prove I had previously ordered food, I had to logon my on-line banking app to show we ordered. ALWAYS, get your receipt! (they will ask if you want it!) This has been a consistently terrible experience at the place. Only go here if you’re up for frustration and greasy cold food. Negative stars if I could.

Came to have lunch here with my mom and overall a bad experience. My mom got a cup of French onion soup and found something small and hard in it which shouldn’t have been in soup. We asked what it could be and with an eye roll were told “it’s just a pistachio”. No sorry, no attempt to correct it. We perused the menu and couldn’t find pistachio in any of the items either which begs the question of what was it doing in French onion soup in the first place. We also ordered sandwiches, my mom’s came and 10 minutes later I still hadn’t gotten mine. I went up to the counter to see it had been sitting there, so I ended up grabbing it and serving myself. When a waiter saw me do this she just gave me a blank stare, no sorry or let me help you. I understand this place has mostly young adults in their early 20s that work here but management could do a better job of teaching some customer service. Cherry on top of the cake was the dirty fork they expected me to use, again had to find someone to ask for a fork and it was met with attitude.

Exquisitely FRESH croissants made all the difference!!! These croissants were baked TODAY; not last week or yesterday a’la coffee places. The sandwich came with a well toasted split croissant filled with chopped Andoville sausage, overlaid with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and garlic - if you like, omit the garlic. The sandwich was wonderful; but there were no napkins to wipe away the oil from the meat and melted cheese under the sandwich. The fries were wonderful- 3/16” square cut and PERFECTLY cooked. Remarkably the 3/16” cut made it easier to use my fingers to eat the fries one-at-a-time; I found myself slowing down and enjoying the total experience… but there were no napkins. Finally because the sandwich and fries were such a delight, I ordered for dessert a Raspberry-Almond Croissant. It was deliciously tasty with another FRESH croissant—. Oh the really fresh croissants are a joy … but there were NO NAPKINS provided. Thus, an easily 5-Star encounter is missing one. (Please click 👍🏼. Thank you. )

May 19 at 10:40 AM we were going inside the store with the family and right before we get inside , we got hit by hearing one of the young female employee is talking on the phone and cursing and using F words and not considering that , there are kids and family around (she was on her break because she was eating food right outside) BUT that's no problem

10:45 am we place the order and another young female employee at the cash register (Carlie H ) Took my order and gave me paper cops instead of mug, even though I ask her for the mug, but that is absolutely fine. She apologize to me and she said her mind is not there today. It's all good so far. that happens to everybody.

10:52 AM they took my food to the wrong table and got it back to our table. still no problem again.

When we received the food, 3 things on the order was wrong and I do have the receipt to show and Clarify to whoever wants to get back to me in case , but still no problem. I ate my food no biggie.

10:59 AM they got the wrong order delivered to the couple next to me so they had to return it back to the kitchen.

11:03 AM they came back to those couple who were sitting next to me, but their food was inside the bag to go which they never ask for that so they had to return the food back to the kitchen and put it on the plate. When they brought the food to them finally , it was cold and they both rejected their food so they took it back to kitchen to warm it up.

11:08 AM one person came from outside tables with his breakfast because he got the wrong food.

11:14 AM, the lady came from inside the kitchen (back) to the front and started to yell and talk aggressively to both cooks in front of all the customers ( in Spanish ) and it was very awkward and weird silent

I know I wrote a lot of negative sentence but I love that place and it's been many years that me and my family go to the same spot and I thought the only way that I can make the owner/manager understand the situation , is to write this. Great food and nice location just coordinate with the few teenagers employees that they careless, unfortunately, and probably leave this job and go to the other job for 50 Cent more soon . It's just very...

The Champagne French Bakery Cafe has a lot to offer, but doesn't deliver on some key points regarding classics.

Context: Came here multiple times and tried a portion of what they have to offer.

Pros: The croissants were pretty decent for being made in the U.S. The big fruit tart was good, nice and crispy on the outside with a good zest to the cream. The California Benedict was a good option and tasted relatively good, with the Hollandaise sauce being a very good addition. The Crab Benedict was good, although it didn't have as much crab as it was advertised to. The staff were nice and were very helpful.

Cons: The mini tarts they had were clearly old and were soggy. They were falling apart and was very nasty in your mouth. The sandwich I had one day was covered in oil and was pretty disgusting. My hands were slick and slippery after I ate. The crepes were really not anything to write home about. Just okay, and not really crispy enough. Clearly they don't know what a Tiramisu is. Their take on a Tiramisu is a dry spongy mess that makes you want to vomit, if you've tasted a Tiramisu before.

Overall, this place is more hype than anything. They need to dispose of things after...
