Cork & Stem — Restaurant in San Diego

I finally checked out Cork & Stem for a friend’s birthday celebration last week Saturday. The birthday boy and his fiancé are friends with the owner, Jen, who is lovely. The space she created is absolutely wonderful! She reserved the back area for the party. We were able to decorate the space with balloons and streamers and confetti. The birthday boy arrived and was totally surprised. It was the best! The food that was ordered from the venue was a great variety and was delicious! I didn’t even realize I was hungry until I smelled the fresh bread of the flatbread pizzas. We all noshed and raved about all of the things we were shoving into our faces. The wine! My friend selected four wines to be served: a red, a rose, a chard, and a bubbly. I tried each of them and they were all good but my favourite was the rose which isn’t like me. That’s one of maybe three roses that I’ve liked…ever. We enjoyed each other’s company and removed our debris so they could close at 9 PM. Jenna from Cork & Stem is amazing!! I hired Jenna for a build-your-own flower bar as a party favor at a bridal shower. Jenna was extremely professional, kind, and pleasant to work with. She was there from start to finish—from listening to my wants for the shower and guiding me through the booking process to the end of the event. Jenna set up the flower bar and left the shower to give us our space but returned near the end to assist people in building the bouquets. The set-up itself is very beautiful and served as it's own decor. It was a focal point of the party. Everyone at the shower said she was just a delight and also loved the flower selection and her help in arranging and cutting. At the end, we had a few extra flowers so she made us a few more beautiful arrangements to-go and cleaned up her station and mess.

You know the old saying "I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having 6! It's called a tasting and it's classy!" Friends, if like me, this is a life lesson you can subscribe to, then look no further than Cork & Stem. The staff are lovely and super knowledgeable about wine. They have a well rotating list of wines with plenty of local options. Cute nibbles like charcuterie, hummus and larger lunch options. They have some sort of flower thing going on too, which is great. Go flowers. But seriously the wine is good, wine flights, sparkling, non-alcoholic and even a beer choice for your partner that "isn't that into wine" but is down for some other stuff after 3 beers, am I right?
