Final Review I had an amazing visit to Crispy Chicken n' Tomato, where the management and team have truly outdone themselves in delivering top-notch service and exquisite food. The highlight, their chi-mek, is a must-try, showcasing the dedication of the management to provide an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant excels in creating a welcoming atmosphere with meticulously prepared dishes. I highly recommend giving them a try for an exceptional culinary adventure. Kudos to the management for maintaining such high standards! Second Review My recent experience at Chicken n' Tomato unfortunately did not match the high standards I've come to expect based on my previous visits. Normally, I'm delighted by their consistent quality in both food and atmosphere. This time, however, the service felt rushed and less welcoming. The presentation of the food also differed from the usual charming Korean food stall cartons, being served instead in plain takeout boxes, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, a portion of our chicken wings were disappointingly cold and chewy, a stark contrast to the rest which were as delicious and fresh as I've usually enjoyed. I'm hopeful this was just a one-off situation, as I've always considered Chicken n' Tomato a top-notch choice for chi-mec….. First Review Crispy Chicken n’ Tomato in San Diego is a haven for Korean fried chicken lovers, meriting every bit of its five-star reputation. The moment you enter, you're greeted by an atmosphere that’s both vibrant and inviting, a perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The staff here take hospitality to another level, welcoming guests with warm smiles and an attentive service that makes you feel right at home. The culinary star here is undoubtedly their Korean fried chicken, a masterful blend of crunch, flavor, and juiciness that tantalizes your taste buds. Each piece is a testament to their commitment to quality, boasting a golden, crispy exterior and tender, perfectly cooked meat inside. It's not just delicious; it's a flavor journey. But the real showstopper is their signature “monster” sauce – a marvelously spicy concoction that adds an exhilarating kick to the chicken. This sauce strikes a flawless balance between heat and flavor, enhancing rather than overpowering the chicken's natural taste. It's a bold, addictive flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Crispy Chicken n’ Tomato's chi-mek (chicken and beer) experience is unparalleled. The variety of beers on offer perfectly complements the spicy, savory notes of the chicken, creating a match made in culinary heaven. And the side dishes? Each is crafted with the same attention to detail and quality, adding depth and variety to your meal. The ambiance is lively yet comfortable, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special gatherings. The staff's knowledge of the menu and their eagerness to recommend dishes based on your preferences is a testament to their professionalism and passion for food. In conclusion, Crispy Chicken n’ Tomato is not just a restaurant; it's a destination for exceptional food and service. Their monster sauce is a must-try for anyone who loves a spicy kick, and their overall commitment to quality makes them the best chi-mek spot in San Diego. A visit here promises not just a meal, but an experience that delights all the senses.

Ordered half of the whole chicken with Monster sauce and it was really good. The chicken was crispy and the spice level was perfect! I find it hard to gauge how spicy Korean chicken wings are at different places because its place seems to have their own level of spiciness whereas I find Thai food level of spiciness more or less the same. So here's a little background about my taste in spiciness: at Thai food places, I like to get 7/10 for pad thai and 8-10 for drunken noodles/pad kee mao; which means I enjoy quite a bit of spice but I also want to taste the sweetness if the dish is supposed to be sweet. Korean chicken wings should have some sweetness and but mild sounds too bland to me, so I went with my guts and got the monster. Jackpot!!! This really hits the spot; I got a little bit of spice, a lot of crunch and enough sweetness. The portion is quite small; so go big next time. Got this to-go and it was well-packed.

Been wanting to go here for a few months and they didn't disappoint! Popped in for dinner, not very busy at 6:30 pm, plenty of parking right in front and seating inside and out. The have a good sized bar inside and an ordering counter, good flow to the place, very clean. They had classic Oldies playing in the background, loud enough to hear clearly but still have a conversation without issues. The staff were friendly, informative, and helpful with questions and menu items and suggestions. Menu was very easy to navigate and has good options. We got the 6 strips and a combo plate, which the combo really is enough for 2 in itself! Came with fries, coleslaw, and rice in addition to the 5 hefty strips/chunks of crispy crunchy fried chicken-which were amazingly juicy inside and Super crisp outside. Hubby said that lunch time this place and parking is topped out with people, so plan wisely because it is worth it.

I've only eaten here once, my experience was great, I ate in the restaurant. There are plenty of different flavors to choose from for your chicken and fries, and they have combo meals, everything I got was entree style. I had the 6 piece original crispy chicken strip with the sweet/mild sauce on the side, original french fries, cheese balls, ranch dipping sauce and a fountain drink. The chicken strips are pretty large, juicy and are crispy fried, sauce was sweet and garlicky, I really enjoyed all of it. The original fries almost reminded me of McDonalds fries, as they were skinny and salty which I really like, so they were pretty good. The cheese balls were pretty dang amazing, at least I think so! They are like fried mochi (sweet chewy rice) on the outside and cream cheese on the inside fried perfectly!! If you haven't had them definitely try them you'll be surprised. Ranch dipping sauce isn't homemade but it comes in a little cup with a pull off top, normal ranch dressing which I used on my chicken and fries. There's about 8 or so fountain drinks to choose from. I didn't finish my meal took half of it home, the portions are more than enough for 2 people for what I got. The employees were courteous and helpful. It wasn't busy when I went in the evening around 730, I think it's a relatively new restaurant. Food came out pretty quickly, restaurant is very clean. There is also a bar inside and an outside patio area with umbrellas. Wheelchair accessible as well. I would definitely recommend if you like for chicken wings/strips, convenient fast food, and different interesting food you haven't had before as they had a couple of Korean fusion style...

A really nice spot for some good chicken with creek service. We went at lunchtime on a Sunday and it had your usual lunch rush.

When we walked in, we were the only customers and the staff was really kind. The menu is very simple and straightforward with choosing what kind of chicken you want and the flavor. We decided to get tenders for both orders and the soy garlic and sweet and spicy as well as making both spicy. We also ordered the Cajun fries.

I am a little shocked at their prices, for the other items, like Japchae, because to me $14 and the photos of the portion don't make much sense.

Like I mentioned earlier, the service is really fast and we got her chicken and fries fairly soon after ordering. You have to ask for ketchup, but they bring the utensils and napkins to you along with the food. They also have water cups next to the soda machine so don't feel inclined to buy water bottles like we did because we didn't see the water cups.

The flavor for the sweet and spicy was really good and a good spice level that I kinda wish was more spicy. The sweet garlic was good, but I felt like it was lacking something however, it was still very tasty. The portions are great and we had leftovers of both chickens and the fries so you could honestly probably share an order of each with...
