lol, they’re kind of on the expensive side. Not the cheapest but the guac was fresh even tho it was hella small. It was like a small little cup of guac for $5.49. And that’s as much as like three rolled tacos in most other places. But the place was close by and did not have to drive super far. Just don’t expect a $8-9 torta here. More like >$13. Don’t expect guac and chips with cheese for the low. It’s as much as a taco. See pics for updated menu.

First caldo de res soup ive seen for under $30. It’s a smaller portion of course but it’s still perfect. Noticed a ton of pictures of the same guy and google said that he was a general in the Mexican Revolution. A key figure in the revolutionary movement that forced out President Porfirio Díaz and brought Francisco I. Madero to power in 1911. This man goes by the name Francisco "Pancho" Villa. Cheers to the heroes & the doers!

Esta bueno. You can't go wrong here. I had the shrimp tacos and 1 tostada. Good size, good taste, and the kind of price I prefer to pay. Which is as low as possible. Si sos de Nicaragua te vas gustar los mariscos. Go for it man. I don't rate unless the food good

Having stayed here for 5 days I ate here 3/5 of the days that’s how good this place is! Coming from Houston I will say the prices are a little high; but superrrrr authenticity with its proximity to the Pacific Beach and being in California I thought it was a helluvagood deal!

Things we ordered during our visits:

1x QuesaBirria Tacos w consommé 2x California Surf Burrito ( is a California burrito w asada and shrimp ) 1x Chilaquiles ( green sauce and sunny side up eggs w beans and rice) 1x Carnitas Torta 2x Chipotle Fries w chicken

Service was great the woman there was super polite and had a great attitude like seriously was super gracious with us. I ordered a side of ‘fries’ but I think she heard ‘rice’ and corrected it immediately without making it a problem. Service and food was amazing.

Food: omg coming from Houston and a Hispanic household the food is very authentic and I love their presentation with the small blanched peppers or sautéed peppers depending on the dish. QuesaBirria is usually a fad and or trendy food item but out of alllllll the places that I’ve had it. Theirs was the best! Consommé has great flavor and the beef is VERY meaty and good size portion on the filling. Chips and tortillas on everything are freshly made you can tell or produced locally and made fresh! Chilaquiles ARE TO DIE FOR xD ughhhh I hate to say it ABUELA… but theirs are better! 🙊 The eggs were super rich and even their refried beans had really really good flavor for being a side item. I saw someone’s review for them and they weren’t lying! Their chicken chipotle fries are so good not too rich but perfectly fresco with the guac, sour cream and shredded cheese/ hot items contrast so well. Fries needed to be salted out of the fryer though. The torta OMG the carnitas are out of control authentic and crispy/ juicy. Bread was toasted and everything tasted great with their green salsa. The California surf burrito was my girlfriend’s favorite for me it needed some salt or lime or a salsa put into it. The unsalted fries and beans became too starchy in it for me. But my girl loved it and I loved every other dish.

my only advice to change for the chef is that I know they have salt problem. Everything we ordered was great but DEFINITELY needed to be salted… if you're using lard and and high fats to cook with I think you could sprinkle some salt in there.

Either way much love from Texas! I will always come back here...

The people here are nice, BUT if you are mexican and eat mexican food daily this place aint it! We order a bunch of different things and i honestly almost all of it was no good. The green chilaquilles are just sour and im use to them tasting a bit lemon-y but these were too much and too soggy. My kids got chorizo burritos and those were super dry (big but so dry) we also order carnitas tacos and they were burnt! Im almost positive that they just grabed old stuff and fried it thats why it was burnt. The chips are also stale. I just was shocked with how bad the food is. I questioned if the beans are canned beans? The only dish i can say was decent was the costillas. So if u must eat here i would probably...

SHOCKINGLY expensive and my daughter and I have both used the toilet at least a half dozen times today… talk about Montezuma‘s revenge 😩

I had carne asada street tacos (tiny amount of meat with onion and cilantro) and chicken enchiladas plate (she had only 1 bite of my enchiladas) while she had a carne asada burrito with what my daughter called “runny avacado”.

She’s also had an horchata that I had one drink of.

We eat Mexican food all the time… this is our first time back at this spot after years.

Again, we pretty much ate different things, but we’re both using the bathroom A LOT.

Her a few times more:(

The staff vibe was weird and the food is hurting my daughter…we...
