I think this is Grantville’s best kept secret, local gem. Well, not really a secret since it’s smack in a plaza but the views of the golf course and outdoor patio will blow your mind. We always enjoyed the food here. You get complimentary endless chips and salsa. The chips are so fresh, thin and crispy. You can literally get full from just eating that and we would pack our entrees home. The margaritas are delicious and it comes with many flavors and size. We got the strawberry and watermelon flavors. I love flautas and it’s difficult to find a place that makes it right. I love how it’s deep fried crispy and the chicken is the right portion to the flour tortilla, not so thick. The fish and beef tacos are good. It’s shredded beef not ground beef. The chili relleno is alright. I really like the patio. It’s great for the summer or winter. Doesn’t feel like you’re in San Diego with the nice golf course.

This was some of the best Mexican food I've ever had and an overall excellent restaurant experience. The chips and salsa tasted very fresh and the guacamole was incredibly smooth. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was great. It was crispy on the outside and the chicken didn't end up dry at all. The rice and beans were also great and really brought the meal together. The staff was friendly, but not in an extremely persistent way that would be annoying. The restaurant is in a great location and has great views. It sits over a golf course with mountains in the background, so there's a lot to take in visually. Stylistically, the restaurant has a very classic look. The tables are painted to look like they have tiles and one of the walls in the back room featured a mural. The music they had playing completed the atmosphere and all of this at once made me feel a nostalgia that I haven't felt in a while.

I came on a Sunday. There wasn't a problem with seating. I got a nice booth overlooking the golf course. I began with coffee and kahlua ha ha ha. Great way to begin your dinning experience.I sat there enjoying my coffee and view on a beautiful day. My waiter was pleasant and efficient. I ordered a chicken fajita which came to me sizzling hot and very very tasty.I then ordered a sangria. The whole meal was delightful. If disabled your going to have difficulty maneuvering around from the parking area to the entrance. Price of my dinning was a little pricey. But certainly worth paying!! The location of the restaurant is kinda hard to find.. especially on a busy road such as mission gorge. I will return for a very pleasant dinning experience.

I don’t understand how this place received any good reviews. When we walked in the guy at the front desk said “I’ll get you a table when one comes up” there was people inside and outside waiting so, I asked him how long it might be and couldn’t give me a firm answer. He never wrote down our names which I thought was odd. Then more people came in and he did the same thing. Again, I thought it was strange he wasn’t taking any names down for a list.

They did seat us in about 10-12 minutes which was nice. The waitress came around pretty quickly and took our drink order and delivered them quickly with our menu, chips, and salsa however no napkins or silverware. Then, she never came back and after about 15 minutes they were taking orders from other people that came in after we were sat. At about the 25 minute mark I got up to try to track someone down and saw the front desk guy and waved him over to our table he looked right at me saw that I was summoning him but he ignored me and started to walk outside which I then asked him if he could get someone to take our order. The waitress came back pretty quickly and took our order however, after another 30 minutes she came around and started to say the food was coming out in about 15 minutes but stopped when she noticed we were not happy and just said soon. We told her people were getting there food that were seated way after us and soon after the front guy came to our table and said the same thing as the waitress and we told him other people were getting served their food and were seated after us. He did not seem to care. We were ready at that point to pay for our drinks and walk, then the food came.

I took a bite of my enchilada and it was cold. I tried the rice and beans which were also cold. So I asked my wife about the tacos she order and they were also cold.

So the break down was this the chips were greasy and tasted stale, the salsa was mediocre at best, both dinners were served cold and the service was really poor.on top of it the parking was bad we had to park on the other side of the building and walk pretty far to get to the restaurant.

I would not recommend this place nor would I ever come back. They may of had a bad night I get it but the guy that seemed to be running things was unprofessional and should not be working in the...

I am not a big fan of this restaurant because of previous visits. At the recommendation of friends we went. Stepping into the restaurant I felt closed and In a maze. There is not a lot of space for decorations and lighting is ok. We were seated immediately. But after being seated it seemed a long time to get service for drinks and menus then again to place an order. The staff is cordial and once the order arrives they checked on us multiple times. It did take some time to get the check. Our orders, much to my appreciation was very hot. The flavor and texture of the food was average. Nothing set them apart from other restaurants. This is where the word memorable is written about. There is two things I look for at every restaurant.

  1. What is the condition of the seats. Do the bench cushions have holes in them. Where we sat, yes.
  2. Are the chairs typically wooden chairs loose and not ready for customers to sit in safely. I only saw wrought iron chairs.
  3. Can I run my fingernail along the edge of a table, chair or the under side of a staircase railing and gummy grime builds up on the fingernail. To me this is disgusting bcuz the grime is there and gets on the clothes. As patrons we should expect cleanliness both in the kitchen and in the eating area. Gummy grime came off the edges of the table we sat at.

I write reviews, but not to be "one and done". When managers communicate with me to show change takes place I will edit, restate a review and be an advocate for the restaurant. In this case I would help them clean the tables to be involved then write about it. I think...

We came here based on the reviews. As we were walking to our table to be seated, the host of all people asked if we wanted queso or guacamole with our chips (insinuating it was free). My boyfriend asked if it was free and they said no and we said we would just want to start off with the complementary chips & salsa. I mean we hadn’t even say down yet- give us some time to look at the menu for crying out loud. We ordered a couple margaritas and waters to start. They never brought us the waters so we had to ask for them after we had already received our food. I got a house blended margarita and it was the worst margarita I’ve ever had! It tasted like an icee from the gas station. When the main course arrived, I noticed my fork and spoon looked as if they had already been used by the previous customer and never been washed. When we told the server, he didn’t apologize and simply got us clean utensils. My boyfriend asked for 3 jalapeños to go with his meal (he likes it spicy!)They never said it cost extra but when our bill came the #’s didn’t add up. It was $4 off. We asked about it when we were paying and the guy said we were correct but then he said “oh well you were charged for the jalapeños, he just forgot to add it in”. It was obvious he just wanted us to think we weren’t charged and assumed we wouldn’t verify the #’s. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and won’t be coming back! After spending $70 for two people, it is obvious there are way better Mexican restaurants out there worthy...
