Enoteca Buona Forchetta — Restaurant in San Diego

Wildly inconsistent. Been coming here since they opened and the only constant has been unreliable service. The layout has been confusing and unwelcoming since the most recent remodel, with a few unusable bar seats where ordering takes place and a single server, often overwhelmed. Decided it was time to write in today after the Porchetta came with the same prosciutto cotto as the Italiono (rather than actual porchetta) and no chimichurri as listed on menu. Menu also listed cocktails which are no longer available, but at least that was communicated when ordering rather than sandwiches which were ordered to go and not discovered until home. VEGANS: I went here as it was reopening from the covid closure so it had a limited menu. It was AMAZING. They have a vegan section for each type of menu item. I got the vegan mushroom penne and the sauce was light and flavorful and they weren’t stingy with the mushrooms and fresh herbs.
