Sub-micro eatery in a great location! Great beer selection! Great food! This dive-esque, seafaring themed place is frequented by locals and serves regionally sourced micro brews & Cali-style, Asian profile comfort foods. So what does that mean? It means the fresh food (specials of the day) & brews are dang delicious. My go to fave is the Loco Moco & the gravy is distinguishable from the fast food variety. Say what you will about this dish, people either love it or leave it, but for me this plate screams all kinds of stick to the ribs (& arteries) comfort, especially when paired with the recommended beer, it can equate to a bit of nirvana. Don't show up hangry, because anything worth having, takes time to get right, and due to it's popularity & steady stream of regulars, be ready for the wait, but enjoy a couple of flavorful beeroos before the food arrives. Been here enough times to experience a few misses, but overall I have consistently experienced well prepared food & service over the last several years. If a place isn't worth it, I wouldn't bother reviewing, let alone giving it four stars. As always, check it for yourself. Happy fishing for your favorite place...
Read moreWe were on Shelter Island for my daughter's wedding. My dad had mentioned what he called a hot dog place, but we had been unable to make it there all week. Our last night there we decided we'd check out Fathom. It was right across the road and it was a lovely evening. It's right on the pier and there is dedicated seating available.
I don't remember what everyone had but we all enjoyed it very much. I had the Greek burger and it was so amazing, I didn't even stop eating to take a photo. I also don't remember which drink I had but it also really hit the spot and I loved the glass. We had a lot of really great food during our time in San Diego and on Shelter Island, but this one ranks right up there. Definitely give it a try for a laid-back yet delicious meal. Or even just a couple drinks some afternoon. You will...
Read moreMy wife and i came here to get her a hotdog and the guy at the counter not only rude but very disrespectful, my wife loves your hotdogs but didnt want brunch the guy gave her an attitude, i love how you can buy a beer but not a hotdog my wife says shes never coming back ever again.
Edit: First half of your response makes sense, probably should have just left it off there. Second half seems like you guys just don't take to negative criticism well. Secondly, what do reviews at other businesses have anything to do with the experience at yours? That's just petty for you to say that. Also, do you delete all the 1 star reviews you receive so potential customers can't see them? That seems kinda disrespectful to me. I'm happy to take our business elsewhere, there are plenty of restaurants...
