Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! I remember Sudberry promising to put in this park as part of the conditions for getting the permit to build thousands of new dwellings. I'm still not too keen on adding thousands more residents given our uncertain water supply in San Diego, but he really honored his commitment and, I would say, went above and beyond! It is truly a spectacular city park. Great playgrounds for little kids - colorful fun sturdy things to climb on and around, sandbox, fountains of the sort little kids can run through to cool off on a hot day, winding paths, stairs, benches, shade artfully constructed with Wisteria, chess area, light educational placards about the geography, restrooms, dog park at the very top. Read moreSurprisingly for a Sunday late morning (given the location and usual traffic and crowds), there was plenty of parking. There are not a lot of trees and shade, but plenty of green area. There are great views of downtown skyline, sail boats, giant ships and military vessels. The park is very clean. Lots of room on wide, level paths. Not-mosquito bugs are somewhat annoying and abundant while we were sitting on a blanket in the grass.
