I had the absolute pleasure of having lunch at Flora, and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. What made it truly special wasn’t just the food—which was fresh, beautifully prepared, and bursting with flavor—but the hospitality and care shown by Ocean, the owner herself, who also happened to be our waitress.
From the moment we walked in, Ocean created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You can immediately tell how much passion she has for her restaurant and her guests. She didn’t just take our order; she shared the story behind the dishes, gave thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel like we were guests in her home rather than just customers. That kind of personal touch is rare, and it set the tone for the entire meal.
Every detail of the service was seamless. Ocean checked in at just the right moments, kept everything flowing perfectly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout. Her knowledge of the menu was incredible—she described the flavors, ingredients, and inspiration in a way that brought the dishes to life even before they arrived at the table. It made choosing what to order not just easy, but exciting.
And then, of course, the food itself was outstanding. Each plate looked as beautiful as it tasted, with fresh ingredients that really showcased quality and care. You could taste the thought and creativity in every bite, and it’s clear that Flora is more than just a restaurant—it’s Ocean’s vision and heart on display.
What stood out the most, though, was the personal connection. Ocean’s genuine warmth and attentiveness elevated the entire experience. She has a way of making you feel like more than just a guest—like part of the community Flora is building. By the time we left, we weren’t just full, we were genuinely uplifted.
Flora is a gem, and Ocean is the kind of owner who makes you want to come back again and again. If you’re looking for not only an incredible meal but also an experience that feels thoughtful, personal, and memorable, Flora is the...
Read moreI enjoyed a pleasant breakfast at this latest addition to North Park. Taking over the Truffle location, this new eatery is if offering a refreshing cosmopolitan appeal with a melee of breakfast & brunch, and later in the day dinner items from different countries.
I started with a cortado before ordering and finished with an iced whipped dalgona coffee. For my meal, I ordered the Smoked Salmon Toast at $16 and the Zucchini Blossom Frittata for $16.
The cortado and iced whipped coffee were both quite good. The cortado was well balanced and well poured with a smooth rich flavor. The dalgona was cold and frosty with and vibrant coffee flavor.
The Salmon Toast was good. It's served on a thick sourdough toast which is a good call. The smoked salmon was tasty and so were the capers and Crème fraîch. The pickled onions were good, but they were a little heavy handed. I would like to see them more as a garnished, rather a main ingredient. The toast also came with a light smearing smashed avocado at the bottom. Personally, I didn't feel the toast needed it. As smoked salmon toast goes, one wants the salmon to be the star.
The Zucchini Blossom Frittata was my favorite. It was simple but the fried zucchini blossom and little zucchini were excellent in the frittata, which was a also very well prepared and seasoned. Loved the fresh parmesan cheese and the French Brie cheese. A light drizzle of Crème fraîche as a garnish would of worked very nice here. The frittata came with a side of house tri-colored potatoes, which were well cooked and lightly seasoned.
The service was very good. It was attentive and full of great suggestions, which is the way I was turned onto the ice whipped dalgona coffee. The place offers inside and outside seating. They are open for breakfast in the mornings and dinner in the...
Read moreThis is the perfect place for the best and most authentic Italian/Sicilian food experience!! If you appreciate authentic Italian food this place is a must! From the moment you walk in you are immediately immersed with the bright colors and decor of the Sicilian islander vibe! We were greeted with the warm and friendly Sicilian welcome! The service was exceptional and professional. Our server Dillon was remarkable at answering our questions and getting everything we needed. Giacomo and Nino were also checking on us making sure we were happy! Then comes the food! To start we tried the freshly baked sourdough bread with tzatziki and artichoke smears and tempura artichokes! The bread is slightly crispy on the outside yet soft and perfectly baked inside! I believe the tempura artichokes were served over the cacho and Pepe cream sauce it was delicious! We tried the lobster ravioli, spinach and cheese with pesto sauce ravioli, chicken milanese, Cacho & Pepe pasta with mushrooms and pecans. We even had a slice of tiramisu cake brought out for my friend's birthday while they sang to her! When Nino found out my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary he gifted us some delicious champagne! The flavors of the food were amazing, the seasonings were on point, everything was cooked to perfection! Having lived in Sicily I have learned that Sicilians have perfected simplicity in food. It is not over seasoned or over cooked. It is an art to master simplicity and have it taste extraordinary!! For one of the best dining experiences in North Park Flora is the place! They are perfectly located one block away from the North Park...
