Anytime that I visit a new city, one type of eatery always near the top of my search is ice cream. Is a city even worth visiting if they don't have great non dairy ice cream options? With that being said, I am happy to report that indeed .. San Diego is now deemed officially worth visiting đ¤ (just in case you were awaiting my official permission before buying that plane ticket âď¸, you're welcome!) :).
I have every faith there's multiple great places in the greater San Diego area where to find great non dairy ice cream but there's one, North Park Creamery, that caught my attention above and beyond all, why ... soft serve, Coconut Ube ice cream, that's why .. very ... very intriguing!
They are located in the (wait for it...) North Park area (seems logical enough lol) and are dangerously close to an Insomnia Cookies location just across the street lol. They offer a nice variety of flavors, the most unique of which (to me) was easily the Coconut Ube flavor. The environment was a bit dark so I did have to brighten my picture to faithfully capture all of the ice cream cone glory lol. You know the line in Star Wars "that's no space station", well, "that's no ice cream cone" .. it was like a death star of ice cream cones except the only thing this death star was conquering was my cravings (you're welcome, Alderaan). Huge, just huge ice cream cone with a vegan labeled cone (nice touch!), super creamy with a flavor that was out of this world. Sandi opted for the Strawberry Dole Whip and Vanilla twist and, she wasn't wrong in her choice, she just didn't happen to be quite as "right" as I was in mine :).
So, what are you waiting for, check them out! Go across the street, grab you an Insomnia cookie (or two...) and together with your ice cream well, remember ... what happens in San Diego stays in San Diego (except if you drip and stain your clothes with ice cream, that might be coming home with...
Read moreNorth Park Creamery Review We stopped by North Park Creamery and ordered their delicious chocolate dips: Strawberry Chocolate Dip,Vanilla Chocolate Dip and pineapple dole whip. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste of their products.
The Strawberry Chocolate Dip was a standout, with a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors. The strawberry flavor was prominent, and the chocolate coating added a rich and creamy texture. It was absolutely amazing!
The Vanilla Chocolate Dip was another winner, with a smooth and creamy vanilla flavor that paired beautifully with the chocolate. The vanilla was subtle yet distinct, and the chocolate added a nice depth to the flavor.
The Pineapple Chocolate Dip was a bit of a surprise, with a slightly savory flavor that didn't quite fit with our expectations. While it wasn't bad, it didn't quite live up to the standards set by the strawberry and vanilla dips. Someone may like this flavor better than our own and personal taste.
Overall, we would highly recommend North Park Creamery for their delicious chocolate dips. The strawberry and vanilla flavors are must-tries, and we're eager to go back and explore more of their offerings.
Rating: 5/5 stars
Would we go back? Absolutely! We're already planning our next visit to try more of their flavors. Enjoy if youâre going...
Read moreguy behind counter was masked, parking was tough, but it's North Park. Flavors were ok, I'd say they were a bit weak. I'm sorry to say nothing special. From the website and reviews I saw on Yelp I was expecting something awesome, but when I got there, the experience wasn't so good. I say save some money and go to dairy queen. I watched the guy behind the counter serve 3 couples before me without changing gloves or washing his hands. I understand being short staffed I don't mind waiting when I see someone working hard, but if you are working with food then handling cash, coins and people's cards at least swap out your gloves. I was the last person in line I had to ask him to either please wash his hand or swap out his gloves. He didn't seem happy about my request, he made a face but he did it. I later realized the guy behind the counter was the owner, at least I think he's the owner as he's the older gent hold the jet puffed jar in the about us section of their website, I could be wrong, I don't think I'll be going back I mean if the owner doesn't follow food safety rule I don't think he trains...
