I wouldn't even give this location 1/2 a star if Google allowed it. So... This has to be the worst service I've ever received!! My husband & I were paying at the drive thru & before we handed our payment to the cashier, we asked if we could add a drink with our order. One drink... that's all we were wanting to add. The cashier told us that they dont add last minute drinks & that if we wanted to park & come inside to buy the drink THAT way, then we could. As if she gave us an offer that we couldn't refuse! Lol I couldn't believe it. I seriously thought she was joking. Well, she wasn't & I was still very thirsty. So, we got our food, parked in front, & we went in to get a drink. Sadly when we were standing in front of the counter, the workers were just looking at us strange like we weren't supposed to be there. It took almost 10 minutes for a worker to say anything. We were the only people in there. No acknowledgment at all? Wow. The worker who asked us what we needed looked like she was in charge, but letting out a huge sigh right before saying to a customer in a tone that sounded frustrated & mad, "What do you need?"... is wrong and very rude. Interesting & an unprofessional way to greet customers. I responded in the same manner& told her that the employee at the drive thru told us to park, come in & pay for a drink that we wanted to add last minute. She let out a huge sigh again, cut her eyes at me & turned to all the workers asking in Tagalog who had told me this. I could hear a few of them talking under their breath in tagalog, commenting about me saying I was "Suplada"and that nobody told me that... giggled and continued saying inappropriate things. They obviously assumed that I didnt understand or ignorantly thought I couldn't speak tagalog either. LOL I DO UNDERSTAND & SPEAK FLUENTLY!! I just dont have a noticeable accent like they did. It was funny how quickly it got quiet when I started speaking to them and asked why they called me suplada. Oh, because I was born & raised here in the U.S.? They automatically stereotype & judge very poorly. That's so sad. One of the workers shouted that the inside is closed to customers. Wow, am I being punked or what? The environment started to feel hostile. Why were they angry? Who knows! The manager ended up giving us a drink, after we paid & waited another 15 more minutes for our ONE drink. What a shame!! Very disappointed!! Rude, nasty, & unprofessional workers who have no clue how to treat their loyal & long time customers. I've been spreading the word & sharing my horrible experience with everyone because nobody should be treated that way. The mira mesa location needs help! Our neighborhood could do much better than that! Train those employees about providing quality customer service. Customers are always right!! Learn how to treat people right!! Do unto others as u would have them do unto u. Golden...
Read moreJollibee, the iconic Filipino franchise, is a global sensation and one of the most beloved fried chicken chains in the U.S. Conveniently located in the heart of Mira Mesa, it’s the only Jollibee spot in San Diego, making it a go-to destination for both locals and fans of Filipino cuisine.
What We Tried
Aloha Chicken Sandwich: A true standout. The combination of juicy fried chicken breast, grilled pineapple, crispy bacon, and melted cheese is divine. The sweet and savory flavors are perfectly balanced.
Chickenjoy with Gravy: Their signature fried chicken is crispy, flavorful, and incredibly juicy. The special Chickenjoy gravy is a game-changer—rich and savory, it’s perfect for dipping both the chicken and fries.
$11 Meal Deal: This combo is amazing value! It includes 2 pieces of their famous fried chicken, one side (your choice), a Ube or Peach Mango Pie, a drink, and a buttery biscuit. Perfect for those who want to try a little bit of everything.
Ube Pie: A dessert you can’t miss! The crispy, golden crust is filled with real ube (purple yam) at the perfect sweetness level. It’s a unique and satisfying treat.
Angus Aloha Burger: Incredible to find beef-patties Cheeseburger at Jollibee. But it comes true!
Chicken Tenders: Expensive, not as juicy as the regular leg & thigh chicken pieces. They gave me an extra piece, which is awesome!
Additional Notes
Wait Time: Due to its popularity, especially as the only Jollibee in San Diego, the location can get quite busy during weekends and meal times. We waited about 15 minutes for our food, so plan accordingly.
Atmosphere: The lively and vibrant environment adds to the charm of the dining experience.
Thestore has the outside dining area which might result as pet-friendly to dine-in with the dogs. At the meanwhile, the drive-thru services are available.
They have extended their business hours from 9am to 11pm at Friday to Sunday. (If one comes early at 9 am, many foods options might not be available like tenders and gravy sauce as ones have to wait for extra time until the food are ready.
Jollibee in Mira Mesa delivers on its reputation with bold flavors, hearty portions, and comforting dishes. Whether you’re craving fried chicken, a satisfying meal deal, or a taste of the Philippines, this spot is well...
Read moreThis is easily the best fast food fried chicken I have ever had. Just the bone in fried chicken, the tenders and the chicken sandwich can definitely be better elsewhere. But as for fried chicken, this place has got it. I tend to come here often with a group of friends to share one of their chickenjoy buckets. Always fills me up after 2-3 pieces of chicken plus the sides they offer. I have been here before just me and they offer good meals for just 1 person. A two piece with 2 sides, pretty good. This place is not cheap by any means, but if we're comparing to other fast food it's about average. The gravy they got here is unbeatable. The best gravy I have ever had that wasn't homemade. I'm talking so good you can drink it. The chicken is always crispy and very tender, and is bursting with flavor. I always get it spicy, it tastes better. A lot of people hate on the fries, but I love them a lot. They are like kind of like McDonald's fries except 10x LESS greasy and they are generous with the portions. Not too salty either. And I was not aware of Jollibee's biscuit game. Their biscuits are very buttery and soft. One time I came on my own, and the lady gave me two extra biscuits!
Now, my one issue with this location is the service. It's pretty trash. I know I said earlier a lady gave me two extra free biscuits, which is actually the only time I had an actual pleasant experience with their employees. Other than that, the workers are quite rude at times, and you ask them for help or a question and they act like you're inconveniencing their day. The menu is a little hard to read and understand so I often times have to ask one of the employees clarification and it's just met with bluntness. Now it isn't bad enough for me to not give them 5 stars, the food is really saving them here. If the chicken wasn't amazing quality every time, it would...
