I don't usually feel inclined to leave negative reviews, but having worked at Starbucks previously and with several years of customer service under my belt -- I need to ask, is Jaila okay??
I went to another Starbucks location in Mira Mesa on my way into work at 7am & despite ordering my drink half decaf, I received it fully caffeinated. I could tell by my heart palpitations that it was 1) Definitely fully 4 shots of espresso & 2) Probably an accidental oversight. Totally fine, I love their Starbucks and will probably never cheat on them again after this experience I had with Jaila LOL.
But back to Mira Mesa Blvd Starbies...on my lunch break I brought the drink to this location for a remake since it was closer to where I was running my errands and it's usually fast. But girl, I spent 25 minutes in line before even reaching the window (yes I timed it bc wth y'all doing back there??). I told the girl who took my order this was a remake and ordered it exactly as it was supposed to be made. She said "No problem, we can remake it for you just come around". Half my lunch break later, I get to the window and the cashier starts asking me 21 questions "Do you have the drink?" yes. "Does it have the sticker?" No, but my app has the receipt. Every answer I give, she's repeating it back into her headset to Jaila the shift lead. After telling me to hang on, here comes Jaila in all her glory half leaning out the window coming in hot with "so here's the thing..." all the way bye, but anyways. She basically went on to tell me that even though she wasted my whole lunch and told me they would remake it at no charge, she never said "no take backs" and will now revoke her offer to remake it.
But here's the kicker, per Jaila, if I call the starbies that originally made it and have a barista THERE tell her to remake it then that's fine. Even though the app shows exactly WHERE and WHEN I received the drink. But okay Jaila, whatever makes you feel like you have a purpose. So I called the other location, and a barista from there scoffed and said "I'm so sorry" and called the other store to professionally put Jaila back in her place. Needless to say Jaila must have had a huge portion of her check taken out from the drink I was asking for because she was holding on to her answer "No" for dear life, only to be told to remake it. Honestly y'all, I should've just left after Jaila came at me with "here's the thing", but after 45 minutes of my life gone down the drain, it was personal now I was a little petty (sorry, God ). But also, miss Jaila, I hope you had the day...
Read moreThey just re-opened as of the 9th of March with a new layout. This Starbucks now caters to the mobile orders and drive-thru. It is no longer a comfortable space to enjoy a cup of coffee with friends, to study, and to stay longer. The environment is more of, buy your drink and leave. There is a lot of new tech to aid the Starbucks crew to move around easier and get your drinks out in a more timely fashion. As much as I do appreciate it that, again I must emphasize that there is no longer space for in-store guest and to encourage them to stay longer.
As you can see in these photos, there is only 4 tables inside and the rest of the customers, students, and workplace workers away from home need to work outside if they would like to use the amenities after purchase. You are now susceptible to the weather outside the store. Forget sitting outside after dark. There is no outside lights.
This Starbucks is still the only one that still keeps their walk-in cafe open till closing. Not like the others that are open later but close their walk-in cafe earlier than their drive-thru.
The wait time for a table is +1 hour, since it only says, "Wait time". Your drink order and pick up is...
Read moreThis location is a hit or miss, depending on who's working. There are days when they make my drink perfectly and always get my order right. Then there are days when my drink is pretty much milk with a dab of coffee and tastes bad. I've had unfortunate situations where I found a milk cap, plastic, and even paper in my ice coffee. Other times when my croissants fell straight through the bag because both sides had holes in it. The good thing is that they will replace it for you the next day at no charge. The only other thing I really don't like is that if you ever ask to get your iced coffee shaken, it's always missing like a quarter of coffee. I'm not sure if it's because they pour it out too quickly so the bubbles don't settle, but it was disappointing that is always a quarter missing coffee when you ask for it shaken, so I stopped asking for that. Overall, they are great here, but there are times when the employees are rude and just unhelpful. I guess I'll stay writing names down and update my post to praise the awesome employees and warn you about the not so...
