The best açaí bowl and cold pressed juice I've ever had! I've had açaí bowls in the past and they were okay. I visited San Diego in August 2021 and had an açaí bowl for breakfast from this location and it was so delicious and refreshing! Every bite is so flavorful and you can tell that all of the ingredients are high quality. The granola, peanut butter and almond butter are all made in house, and you can definitely tell! The cold pressed juices were so refreshing and they are made in house weekly from local ingredients. I really enjoyed the celery juice, the Blue Healer and the Green One. They also come in glass bottles, which prevents you from having to feel that plastic-y taste. I loved it and I wish I had a location near where I live! Added bonus, they also have a cold coffee drink called the bump n grind, which tastes really good and doesn't feel like it's full of sugar and whipped cream like a coffee drink from a coffee shop might. I will definitely be returning on my next visit...
Read moreWe were really excited to try Juice Wave’s açaí bowls and planned our day around it. Online it says they close at 3:00 PM. My family and I (a group of 8) started driving around 2:10 PM and after 40 minutes on the road, we arrived at 2:54 PM before the posted closing time of 3PM.
To our surprise, we were told they were already closed and not taking any more orders. The employee rudely said they stop taking orders at 2:30 PM. If that’s the case, why isn’t that clearly listed online? Most people rely on posted hours when deciding to support small businesses.
We even tried calling at 2:13 PM to place a pickup order, knowing we were cutting it close. But the calls went straight to voicemail—they had already turned off their phones as well.
Overall, it was a frustrating experience. If you stop taking orders at 2:30, then you should update your hours to reflect that. We went out of our way to support this place, but the poor customer service and lack of transparency left a really...
Read moreDuring my time as a UC San Diego student I have regularly visited Blue Bowl for their açaí bowls. I approached my first experience at Juice Wave with optimistic expectations. The experience failed to match the expectations I had for this establishment. The 40-minute wait was pretty wild. The long wait time for my order was unacceptable since the final product failed to meet my expectations. The ingredients were fresh, sure—but the flavor was pretty average, maybe even a bit underwhelming compared to other spots around San Diego.
The portion size was acceptable but the prices were reasonable yet the extended wait time and average taste made the experience less satisfying. The establishment provides an average experience that fails to impress customers, especially with the lack of seating area for customers.
Try it for yourself and make your own opinion, but for me it was a one and...
