Finding it impossible to see this store has such a high rating. I’m concluding this rating to tourists who are overly excited about finding a cool local spot. Ordered an on line pre order -ETA was 5 mins. I waited 17 mins in the store (ya they were busy and didn’t want to be a dick ) I finally asked where my order was. The girl working told me it would be another 10-15 mins before they cooks prepare my order. !!!!!!! Coffee better be FREE for waiting 40 mins !!!!!

WHERE ARE YOUR VEGAN OPTIONS ???? Where are they ??? And don’t hand me a PDF and tell me to check every items nutritional content so I can order appropriately. YOU tell me what’s vegan, YOU work there and or run the place !!!! So rude!!!! All of your specialty drinks( Which is not something I order frequently because of the calorie content however, for Christmas or special occasions, I might order something. That’s a specialty.) however even Mocha and chai lattes have dairy in their powder. It’s not hard to get a cocoa that’s vegan. It’s not hard to order vegan options - I see you have a vegan zucchini bread and a vegan zucchini muffin. I’ve yet to see that more than twice in my entire life and I’ve lived in Mission Bay for years. What is going on the store really needs to order appropriately in order for everyone. And you can take that PDF and shove it.

The ppl working in mission bay are super super unfriendly.

it’s always way too cold in there. Tell me why the huge window / garage door front wall is always open. This is stupid. When it rains close the windows and doors, when it’s cold - close it.

This place is unusually load like too load to think !!! There is nothing inside to absorb the blasting music and shouting people, this place is designed like a warehouse. Between the entire wall that opens up like a window and the blasting music, it is not comfortable to sit and it is definitely not comfortable to work for an hour or two

I live with a Stonesthrow of this location, but I would prefer to get in my car and drive to Pacific Beach then to walk 10 feet from my house. This location...

Great study spot to post-up and enjoy some sweet treats.

PROS: The Coffee- I'm a big fan of the Best Drink Ever. It's basically an americano with their vanilla powder in it. Caffeine can make me a little crazy sometimes, so the decaf espresso is a perfect option.

The Beach- This spot is right across the street from Mission Beach. It's bayside but within walking distance of both the beach and the bay. It's perfect for walking around when you need a quick break.

Atmosphere- It feels good inside of this Better Buzz. It's all open aired with lots of great seating options.

CONS: The People Loitering Outside- It's not their fault that Mission Beach can get hit by its fair share of crazies. Last time I was there, there were people on drugs outside who kept bothering patrons as they walked in and out. Finally, the liquor store owner next door threatened to call the police or else they would have continued to stay there shouting at the people walking in.

The Music- The music can be a little loud so don't forget to bring head phones if you really...

I have been here and a few other Better Buzz Cafe's over the last couple of years on my visits to San Diego. I can say without a doubt that this is the slowest service I have ever received anywhere. From the time we arrived until we received our last item, an OG Acai Bowl, 48 minutes had passed. I can understand a little wait time if they were exceptionally busy, but this was not the case. In addition, I witnessed something that I have never witnessed before at another coffee location. While making my coffee the Barista used tap water to fill up my drink and my wife's drink so that the cups appeared to be full. The end results were very watered down tasting coffee drinks. I generally enjoy the drinks from Better Buzz, and this possibly could have been an isolated incident, although a regular customer informed me that this location in particular is very slow as he was leaving and the move to the tap water looked a bit practiced. In the future, I will choose to get Better Buzz at a different location.

On the upside the OG Acai Bowl...

Better Buzz Coffee at Mission Beach has a lot going for it, especially its convenient location near Mission Bay Beach. We tried the hazelnut divinity latte, white mocha, conscious chocolate blended smoothie, chocolate croissant, and avocado toast. The drinks were rich and flavorful, with the hazelnut divinity latte being a standout. The chocolate croissant was excellent, perfectly flaky and rich. The avocado toast was good but could use more seasoning to enhance its taste. On the downside, the cafe offers only one size of coffee, which is quite large. Introducing at least two size options would be a welcome change. Additionally, drinks were served in disposable cups. I’d expect ceramic cups at a cafe, especially as I try to avoid using paper and plastic unnecessarily. The service was rude; the baristas seemed preoccupied among themselves, which affected the overall experience. While there’s room for improvement, the cafes ambiance and proximity to the beach make it worth a visit for a relaxing coffee break.

Possibly my favorite recent coffee shop, and the only place I visited twice on a recent San Diego visit. Outstanding coffee (the best machiatto I've had). Substantial breakfast sandwiches on very-fresh bread at modest prices for the California coast. Decent baked goods (one day's chocolate chip cookie was outstanding, the next day's vegan cookie was one of the best vegan ones I've had). Their Earl Grey tea was the best my mom has had in a cafe, and they offer to steam the almond milk (none of the usual "add cold milk to your tea"). Nice decor, bar-style seating at the open windows, some outside seating, friendly and competent staff. Highly Recommended.

Very popular place! We went there for their 3-seed avocado toast as well as the OG Acai Bowl. The toast was magnificent but the Acai Bowl was frozen solid on the bottom. Rather difficult to eat with the provided plastic spoons. I asked for another one but it also was inedible except for the bananas and berries. We took it home and enjoyed it 30 minutes later. ♿ There is a single HC accessible bathroom for customers which was clean and well stocked. Parking in the area is very challenging. There was no handicap parking in the vicinity that I could find. We would certainly come back for other menu options, especially the 3-seed avocado toast!
