I just moved from the Central Coast to SD and I was really excited to try this place given it's close proximity to my new place and the excellent reviews. As soon as we walked in I had really good feelings about the place, the majority of the customers were Hispanic and there was a line almost out the door. But sadly, I was pretty underwhelmed with everything my girlfriend and I ordered. The salsa was honestly the best part and the only thing we ate that had any spice. Everything else was just too bland in my opinion. I ordered three Pollo Asado tacos, an Horchata, and my girlfriend got the cheese enchilada combo with rice and beans. I absolutely love spicy food whereas my girlfriend can only handle very mild spice and even she couldn't detect any spice in either of our dishes. The chicken was very well prepared and looked well cooked, but just didn't have any flavor. I might be a little harsh, but I feel like we have some amazing Mexican restaurants in SLO and I just assumed being closer to the boarder that the food was going to be super legit. Also, the horchata tasted like a powder mix and not home made. =( I'm sure I'll try and eat here again, but so far my impression is a...

Wow! If I lived around here this would be a regular spot for me. My family and I just crossed back into the states from Mexico after spending a couple weeks there. We’re vegetarian so we had to get veggie options while in Mexico of course. And sadly none of them “hit the spot” if you get what I mean. So after 4 and a half hours at the border crossing we decided to stop here to try the veggie burrito. And my goodness! I’m so glad we made that choice! The burrito is huge! And stuffed with rice, beans, guacamole, cheese, and pico de Gallo. Man oh man did it hit the spot. We ordered fries as well and they were just right! A nice crisp on the outside and the portion is enough for 2-3 people (if you’re having a burrito as well). Not to mention the sweet lady at the cash register was so nice to us and accommodating. Bathrooms were clean too, they’ll provide you with a key if you ask. Wish I had a picture to show y’all, but I scarfed that food down so fast lol A solid 5 stars...

While ordering an order of 12 roll tacos tonight for dinner, I asked if 3 could be beef and rest potatoe tacos🌮, reason being is that our youngest is autistic and very picky if he doesn't like it he won't eat, he will go hungry if not made like he likes it (will only eat beef ones). We have been coming to this taco shop for over 10 years and they know us & my son. I was even willing to pay extra 💲 if need be so that my son could be accommodated. The owner refused which was really disappointing. 😟 They already have the tacos pre-rolled all they have to do is fry them, I wasn't asking for anything extravagant. I'm so disappointed they couldn't accommodate my SPECIAL...

Found this by searching shrimp taco and while I ended up going with a burrito I have NO regrets. I asked for the ingredients: cheese, peppers, onions, rice, and shrimp. I asked for no tartar sauce..and I asked to add beans but they only have beans cooked with lard so that's a no go. I got the burrito and could immediately tell this was a quality tortilla. Cut it in half and was surprised to see cheddar cheese, green peppers, and rice that looked oddly white/lime. But I took a bite and wow. This burrito was SO good. Squeezed some lime in it and ate the whole thing. Would absolutely go back again.

Went in after walking the Ave without finding too much open at noon!! Went here. Lots of folks there supporting. Ordered a bean tostada. No dessert options besides churros. I asked. My dog sat quietly the whole time and when I went to get my food, the hostess said " good bye, have a nice day" in that monotone voice that implies, get out. I almost laughed because it was petty for no reason. The transaction itself was simple and non eventful. Well anyways, there's no salt in these beans on this tostada. So I put some on myself...

I went because it was close by and I was craving something both specific and basic, a burrito with just beans, cheese, and rice. Holy hell I was not prepared for the size of this burrito. And I know it was basic, but it was good. It still is good! I haven't finished it yet! I also added on the potato rolled tacos as a last minute decision while ordering, and. Well. Those didn't last long. It was quick and painless, my order was 100% correct, and I got way more food than I expected for my money.
