So I never do this on Google, but the situation at this McDonald's is so dire, I felt like I had to share:
This is the single most understaffed I've ever seen a McDonald's. It's also eerily quiet. As other reviewers have noted, the staff does not acknowledge people that stand at the counter. When I asked to order, a staff member curtly asked what my order number was. I began to say that I didn't have one yet and was cut off. She directed my attention to the automated kiosks behind me. I appreciate what McDonalds is trying to do with the kiosks, but this franchise is approaching it in the worst way. They really do help when it's busy. Although, sometimes you just want to talk to a real person, or sometimes, and this was the case for me this morning, you want an iced coffee with your breakfast meal and the kiosk isn't programmed to handle that option. I will not be pigeonholed into one of corporate McDonald's pre-chosen drink pairings! I'm not some cookie cutter consumer in their target demographic!
...Eventually I made the staff member aware of my conundrum, and, after a fast argument in Spanish over her headset, her manager appeared as if by stage direction. She took my order at the counter. Judgmental staff aren't friendly, and especially not if you're trans. The bathrooms were locked (a sign that it's a frequent spot for unhoused or junkies), and the staff seems to think everyone of their customers is in one or both of those categories and that makes them less deserving of their time.
Inside, there were a few pests, moths, and flies in the lobby, a reflection of the exterior which smelled like baking urine.
I find myself stopping at McDonalds for the fries and WiFi, and coffee and hashbrown deals in the A.M., but this one is probably better off being a hard pass. I regret stopping even though I had personally witnessed within seconds several disappointed, and even angry, customers.
At first, I thought it was comical that there would be paramedics or sheriffs or first responders — or whatever these uniformed men did— at this fast food restaurant. It didn't take long to see that it may have been something else, something that coincides with the disappointed faces of customers and the McDonald's litter lining the adjacent streets. I never say this, but I honestly hope that this dissuades anyone, families especially, looking for a pleasing experience.
Totally a drive-thru-only...
