Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in San Diego

I ordered 2 pizzas from this establishment last month on 9/2/24 and I always order almost the same thing every time. I ordered 2 large pizzas one bacon and pineapple with extra sauce and their specialty pizza the meat pizza with extra sauce. When I got my order with pies were practically sauce less and completely inedible. I ended up throwing the whole order in the garbage. I absolutely cannot stand wasting food but I did, it was that bad. I called as soon as I got my order and spoke with a gentleman named Jose. I told him about my order and I was told he would make a note and would replace my order under the quality guarantee. I gave him my info and what I ordered and was assured that all I had to do was call to claim my quality guarantee and the meal would be replaced. Called this evening to get my quality guarantee order and guess what!?! Lucy the manager tells me that there wasn't a note for said order. So now I wasted food and git no reimbursement for said food nor do I get the promised order that I was guaranteed I would get. It's disgusting how often I order from this establishment but I can honestly say they have officially lost my business. I didn't want to write this, but I'm still sick over it. Have you ever opened a fridge that hasn't been used for a long time? Like when you move to a new place? Or opened an ice chest that hasn't been used since last summer? Well I ordered a 'the works ' pizza with parmesan crust, and the dough tasted just like that moldy fridge smell. I thought, "maybe it's the parmesan dough", and gave it another try. Toppings tasted fine, but no, the fridge taste was DEEP. I imagine their walk-in is disgusting, and I got the dough that was on the very bottom of the stack. Ended up throwing up the half slice I mistakenly ate, and am currently still vomiting. I didn't want to write this, as I've worked in food industry, and it's unforgiving most of the time, but this is a cleanliness issue, and food needs to be handled in a clean environment. They did give me a refund, but for a company who's slogan starts with "better ingredients", I can't believe a $30 pizza would be...

I never leave reviews unless they are good reviews, but for this, I will make an exception. I ordered a pizza for my kids, and noticed some of the pizza was doughy/not fully cooked. I called to the store to simply ask for a credit or coupon for future orders, since we order for our kids pretty frequently. I explained my situation to a worker, who passed my call to the General Manager Annabelle. I was very taken back when Annabelle did not even let me explain she picked up the call and said rudely “your order was fully cooked” when I told her it was not, she told me it was impossible because of their oven temperature.
