Wasn't quite feeling this new restaurant that replaced Jalisco's Mexican Cafe. I do like their bright, open setting and Mexican theme decor. Definitely a great change up and more lively scene, from that of Jalisco's.
After looking at the food menu, nothing came out at us, nothing exciting and we were hungry. I also think the prices per dish were extra for the neighborhood. Prices were definitely not conservative and no "meal deals" were offered on the menu. I get inflation and the cost of living. Rocko's need to be cautious and find a happy medium with their menu prices as there are plenty of competition when comes to tacos, rolled tacos and burritos around the neighborhood
Service could also use some picking up. Even though it was closer to closing time, server could have been more attentive and welcoming. At the time of my dining experience, there was another table being served and us only. I didn't see much action going on for the evening and being a new establishment, I believe Rocko's need to pick up "better service" etiquettes. Service was not terrible, it was very basic.

Read moreI ordered breakfast to go and was really disappointed. I use to go when it was Jalisco’s and it was better. I ordered a plain simple can’t mess up breakfast and it was messed up. I ordered my eggs over medium and got dry over cooked crunchy eggs. The bacon seems to be deep fried so it was not good at all. I ordered toast and even that was bad. Seems like they drench the bread in butter then gets thrown on a flat grill and smushed down, very flat bread would have liked it to be toasted in a toaster. Beans are dry looked from a can. The potatoes were however cooked right but I just wish they had some seasoning as they were very bland. I paid $16 for something bland, dry and over cooked. I know owner had mentioned their prices were very competitive to others in the area but I think they should also compare quality. Guess I’m gonna have to look for another place for breakfast, I work down the block from there so it would have...
Read moreWe stopped by yesterday on our way back from the airport we were googling places to eat and this is the first one to pop up first thing I ask where are the restrooms as I walk back to restroom’s I told my husband smells really good on the back and I could tell it was the birria which the owner told us it was recently cooked the consomé was so clean I read in another comment on a breakfast that it was expensive, considering that the tortillas are handmade, both corn and flour they should be charging more. The owner is very attentive he cooks the food himself and still makes time to come and greet the customers he told us they open seven months ago. I truly wish them success on this journey congratulations you are...
