This place is connected to a fruteria but you have to order on the Mexican food side. Took over 20 minutes to receive my juice, strawberries and cream and Chamango. Originally came for a beet juice but he didn't understand what I wanted and I got the first juice he mentioned. Meanwhile others came in for a burrito and got it within 5 minutes. Not sure if their food is any good but service for their fruteria seems lacking. Came for a quick desert but ended up waiting too long for something that should've been 10 minutes tops. Chamango tasted pretty gross, kinda like celery, and was an off putting color. The strawberries were pretty good, tastes like yogurt with strawberries but the granola they use was like 90% raisins :/ juice tasted like a regular average home made juice, just blended fruit with water not really juice. overall not a great experience, spent $30 for below average things. They Should just focus on 1 thing and rent that other side out. If you're visiting the food place they don't have any prices on their menu...
Read moregulp... I just ... ate a piece of rare chicken skewer... I'm pretty sure that chicken should NEVER EVER be rare under any circumstance... Now I'm scared. Hopefully I live through this and dodge a salmonella sickness, just in case I die I'm writing a review and leaving my legacy behind. This review is likely more geared for the "Palomino's 2" section where they have fruit salads and skewers.
I saw a co-worker having a skewer the other day and it seemed like it looked good and delicious for $3.95, perhaps it was that I came too early and she rushed my food (11am)... well shiiiiii, make me wait forever I don't mind as long as my food is cooked. I'm starving and need food so I nuked the chicken for 4 mins in the micro JUST in case.
I've gotten a fruit salad on another occasion and the pinnapple wasn't cut right so it was really unpleasant to eat, sour mangos, and there was LOADS of watermelon, more than I cared for.
Nuff said, I wanted to love you Palominos but you just scared...
Read moreI know this place as Palomino's, but maybe they changed the name recently? The rest of this review still applies: Best place in Kearny Mesa for breakfast burritos. They offer several different varieties and sell breakfast burritos all day! This is where I have to go when I have a craving for a breakfast burrito. Their salsa bar is awesome with a nice variety and they have chips, too! The breakfast burritos are large, too. I think I've only been able to eat an entire burrito in one sitting one time. 99% of the time I have to wrap about half of it and eat it later. (I've never had anything other than the breakfast burritos here because other taco shops are my go-tos for...
