Submarina California Subs Rancho Bernardo — Restaurant in San Diego

I’m hoping the owners of this place read these reviews. I used to come to Submarina when it was in the location next door like 15 years ago. So good. I’ve been to this newly opened place a few times now and they’ve got some work to do. There’s like 7 people behind the counter and I can see they’re working hard to deliver quality, but the diffusion of responsibility is apparent. Don’t make me ask for more lettuce. And don’t make me tell you when one of the two meager tomatoes falls off my sandwich. And please, just give me sufficient avocado. And it’s probably not a great idea to have two different workers asking me what I want on two different sandwiches simultaneously. Between the three of us, somehow we got both sandwiches wrong...and the sandwiches I ended up with were kinda anemic and average at best. Maybe they’re still figuring things out. I...

These guys are awesome. The sandwiches are amazing, but the service is just as outstanding. Went there for lunch on Saturday and the line was to the door. I didn't know if I wanted to wait, but decided to because the food is worthy. As always, their team was on point, with all the efficiency of a NASCAR pit crew. In the day and age of $20/hr fastfood workers who all seem to lack motivation and couldn't give a SH-- about your order (accuracy or food quality), these guys are a refreshing throwback to old-school customer...

This place is still amazing! My favorite sub shop by far. The food is fresh and delicious. They get their bread every morning fresh from the bakery and the rest of the products are the best quality and sliced order. There sandwiches are huge compared to other shops like Subway and they taste way better. Fun fact: The first Submarina shop was right in Poway! So show this local business some love and check it out. You will not be disappointed with the food. Love love...
