We have been coming to this location for over 13 years. In the past, we have loved the food, management, and friendly waitresses and waiters. Our two boys, now 22 and 16, have also enjoyed coming here for the past 13 years. However, our most recent visit on August 15, 2024, will unfortunately be our last. Upon sitting down, I immediately noticed the paper menu we could previously fill out on our own was no longer on the table. We were provided with an overly large menu that was crammed and difficult to navigate through. Also, for those new to sushi, there used to be a color menu that accompanied the paper menu so you could see what you were ordering. Not any more, that is gone as well. Upon our food being brought to the table, we waited for small dishes to put our wasabi and soy sauce in. They never came, so we had to get up and ask for them. The salmon on the outside of one of the rolls was warm (Supposed to be a cold, uncooked roll) and the rice paper surrounding the outside of the Alaskan roll only wrapped halfway around, not completely around like before. I am unsure if new management took over, but unfortunately with the changes, we will need to find a new place to eat sushi. Please bring back the paper menus one can check what they want, please bring back sushi that is cold upon being served, and please bring back the inviting atmosphere we grew to love over the last 13 years and then we...
Read moreFirst, the good. Two stars is a stretch. The food was tasty, although not spectacular.
On the plus side, not ONCE did the waitress kick me in the yarbles or throw a live squirrel at my head
The service, however, was like, impossibly bad. And I've had some craptacular service in my day. Some of the highlights...
• For some reason, we got one menu for two people. Romantic, I guess, if you sit side by side, but face to face, not so great. I got up and fetched another one. • The music. Oh. My. God. It was in-between stations, so crazy static-y. Asked the server (like reaaaaalllly nicely) if she could put it on one station or the other. She said yes. And then.... and then... and then... nothing. It stayed that way for the rest of the night. Which was long. • Waited about 15 minutes for our server to actually take the order. Then, when she came, in the middle of our ordering, she left--walked over to another table. Not sure why... She did come back a couple minutes later. • Waited about 50 minutes for the food to actually come. • Order was wrong. We would have eaten live slugs at that point, though, so, we didn't ask for it to be changed. • No little bowls for soy sauce. Had to ask. Seriously?
The sushi was good....
Read moreHorrible service in the past many visits. I used to go there because it's within walking distance from home. I was hoping service would improve when I saw a new waitress. However, she actually refused entry to me and my friend because of my service dog and told us to leave. The sous-chef recognized me from the previous visits tried to intervene and told the new waitress it's ok and said I always go in with my service dog and it's never been an issue. However, she still refused to let us dine in then told us we can just order to go and to wait outside. This is a complete disregard to the ADA law. It's the first for me to be denied service as a disabled veteran with a service dog. I went back on a different day hoping I can bring this to the manager's attention. It was a different waitress this time and she'd said she would go ask him to come speak to me. I watched her speaking to a man whom also turned around and sneered at me. The waitress came back and stated she was told by him to come tell me that he's not available. I won't be giving them...
