There's something charming about mom and pop diners where they are the cashier, chef, dishwasher, table busser and waiter/waitress all rolled into two. At Ann's, there's nothing pretentious about the yellowing walls from the greasy food, the faded linoleum floors or the menu in binder plastic sleeves. It feels welcoming. There's no wait time like the other fancy San Francisco brunch spots. You know, the places with the flowers in the food and avocado toast. At Ann's, I was in-and-out within 30 minutes.
