I visited UCSF Dentist building at 707 Parnassus street in the inner Sunset area, the only parking I was able to find was a few blocks away by Judah and 6th Avenue. After finishing with my appointment I ended up walking around and looking for lunch. I came around into a multi cuisine area by Irving and eight streets. I glanced into the window of a small place with a few seats facing the wall and another area with street views. I ordered at the cashier, I paid and was given a ticket number and patiently waited for my tuen to be called. I ordered two items, the first item was the fried egg roll… the stuffed vegetable rolls were cut into bite size plaited on a bed of lettuce, with served with cold vermicelli noodles, string carrots, a spring of mint and a nice sweet fish sauce to dip your egg roll into it. The Pork Belly Bánh Mi was my second selection, by far the best rendition of this Vietnamese sandwich, crusty and soft in the middle french roll, it came pile with fresh cucumber, thinly pieces of sliced carrots, sliced jalapeños, lettuce, a few cilantro leaves, mayonnaise and seating right in the middle a large slice of melt in your mouth braised pork belly. The place Is very popular and they expedite the food on a...
Read moreLate review for a great new addition to an area flush with places to eat. Stopped by on whim and found a very simple and small space with a few counter stools. Menu included varieties of banh mi and cha gio (fried spring rolls), drinks and noodle dishes. I had the lemongrass tofu banh mi (though the meat options smelled and looked so tasty), and cha gio. The bread was great, perfectly soft and crunchy, and the pickled radish and carrots were fresh and abundant. Lots of tofu that was seasoned well. It was a generous portion, made to order (extra jalapenos and veggies). The rolls were crispy and chewy and reminded me of how my mom used to make it-which is saying a lot. The sauce was authentic and came with rice noodles, mint and lettuce. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a filling and tasty Vietnamese street food. Service was attentive (a kind older man) and wait time was average (approx....
Read moreI've been waiting to try this place because I had a feeling once I tried it, I'd be back ❤️ definitely adding this place to my weekly rotation.. delicious bah mi and excellent Vietnamese coffee.. and if you follow my reviews, you know I love finding a good deal on SF! I had the veggie bah mi- I was nervous that the tofu wouldn't be good, but it was properly braised to have just the right amount of texture...I almost thought it was chicken!!! I appreciate the mushrooms to add more umami and flavor to the tofu. Daikon, Carrots, and Jalapenos were still crunchy and made a wonderful compliment to the tofu. I like that they toast the bun to make it extra crunchy. Perfect place for someone that loves crunchy crispy textures. They made a wonderful Vietnamese iced coffee.. not too sweet, just right. Give the newest sandwich spot on the inner sunset, perfect for a picnic...
