I've frequented this corner store almost every day for the past few months, but, I won't be returning after my experience today (9/2/2025 @ 8:45pm).
I came in to buy some Powerball tickets and other goods, which I purchased separately. I handed over a $10 bill and specified that I wanted only 1 ticket; however, the cashier went ahead and used all $10 for 5 tickets instead.
I don't normally play the lottery, but when I do, I only buy 1 ticket at a time. For me, limiting my play is extremely important. The cashier initially tried waiving me off when I complained that I only asked for 1 ticket.
After, he tried to see if he could undo the sale, but he ended up alleging that he couldn't do anything. After which, he continued to act as though it was not a big deal. It was infuriating that the cashier attempted to play down his mistake.
I understand that $10 may not be a lot of money to many, but for me, it was about not receiving what I ordered & not being able to stick to my personal policy of purchasing 1 lottery ticket at a time.
I won't be returning to City's Choice...
