Dispensary Lounge & Munchies

After over a year of coming here I may never return after the way I was treated yesterday. I won't go so far as to call it discrimination but I suffered from absolute incompetence ranging from the the lounge attendant all the way up to who I assume to be either the manager or head of security. At 3:03 my friend and I spent over $100 and headed to the lounge on an extremely slow Tuesday afternoon. Over 50% of the tables were empty it was legitimately the slowest I had seen it in months. We check out a bong and head to an empty table to smoke up. We noticed someone had left a blunt roach on the table and after a few minutes I, high at this point, took it out of the ashtray to unwrap the weed. I remember back when I would always score free weed out of the ash tray. I assume your policy changed to get the attendants to clean out the ashtrays more regularly as I hadn't actually found any weed in the ashtray for many months until yesterday so I was rather surprised. Very quickly a man in a security hoodie (who I did not recognize as a worker behind the counters so I must assume is either a manager or head of security) came and very gruffly informed us there is no tobacco smoking in the lounge. OK of course not I dont even smoke tobacco I found the roach in the ashtray. He did not listen to us or seem to care. Immediately after the lounge attendant told us it was about time for us to go. The time was 3:20, 15 mins after we had sat down. Now if it was busy I can understand trying to force a table open but as I said over 50% of the tables were empty and furthermore last week on a much busier afternoon we stayed for over 45 mins before we were asked to leave. My problem is not the time limit my problem is I was a victim of failure on many levels of your organization. First whoever smoked the blunt in the first place should have been removed and banned. I'm not sure how the 2 people who are being paid to stand in the lounge doorway completely missed someone roll and smoke the entire thing. Second the ashtray should have been cleaned out to keep stoners like me from grabbing the free weed out of it and third the security/manager guy should be paying attention to the camera to see that we were not at any time smoking the blunt AND how the hell did he as well miss whoever it was that rolled and smoked the entire thing? It hurts to put this review into writing as I had for many months held your organization in the highest regards and often felt happy to reccomend your buisiness to friends and relatives however that will change today. There are dozens of smoke shops within 5 blocks of your location and they will surely treat me with more respect and intelligence. I truly hope this review will force some sort of reflective learning experience on your part but I am not very optimistic. Best of luck and happy holidays, Kalen

The Barbary Coast is the best dispensary in San Francisco. Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, excellent prices, fabulous selection, and a wonderful, knowledgeable staff. It is my favorite place chill while I address the envelopes to ship the children's books I write and illustrate. Today I had an experience that made them even better. They have a points system where you earn points for each $1 you spend. I was unaware of that system until today. Fernando asked me if I wanted to use my points today when I was making my purchase. When he discovered I was unaware of the Barbary Coast point system he immediately signed me up. Then the amazing manager, Alex , made sure I got retroactive points for my previous purchases. Like I said, best dispensary in San Francisco, Barbary Coast. If you are in San Francisco definitely check it out.

I bought a Barbary Coast vaping pen (Lady with black hair and blonde highlights recommend it)

Then pen was broke and I was told AFTER I bought the pen that they’ve had the pens for a really long time so some of them are dead but they can always swap out and replace it for me with a working one. (Mind u if a lot of these pens wont work that should be told to customers before they make a purchase)

The pen was defective and I had to walk 45 minutes the next day AGAIN to get a replacement (stayed and smoked a pre-roll while I waited for the pen to charge) left after testing it in front of them and then boom I get off work and go home again and the charger nor is the pen working (just blinks red) and they don’t do refunds after I called them and asked for one...So I’ll be calling my bank (It sucks because even liquid cartridge itself broke the metal bottom piece came off & I paid $140 in total smh so I’m disappointed and will call my bank Monday morning since they won’t reimburse me.)

Leaving review so you all know not to buy the Barbary Coast vape pen (Rest of their products I’m not sure about because I just tried the gusher pre-roll)

It also bothered me that when I brought the pen up there the y’all guy with the dreads made me feel uncomfortable. I’m literally standing there with the pen in hand telling him what happened and yells over the top of my head at the lady I just finished telling him about who told me to come over to his counter to get it replaced. Maybe he was just checking to see if I was lying or anything I don’t know but obviously the pen came from y’all.

I tried to ask to be reimbursed on the phone for the pen and the liquids and a women told me no they don’t do that but she can exchange the times for me. I’m like look lady I literally just bought this pen and liquids like I have the boxes and everything untouched (besides the second liquid breaking which again DEFECTIVE AND NOT MY FAULT) I told her I don’t want to keep exchanging if the outcome is going to be a continuous of defective pen and me having to walk 45 mins (Mind you I had to walk through hell because there’s nothing but homeless drugs addicts all over there sidewalks literally smoking crack in broad daylight) she said no they can’t do that but they can exchange.

I then asked her to speak to a manger and she said there is not one available right now. I asked her when will the manager be available time wise? And she told me to come to the store and I can speak to one... like lady! I’m trying not to go back to Barbary Coast a 4th time! I just explained I walked there several times already (I can never get a lyft to that area because they cancel like they don’t want to drive on that side of town) and all she said was that was the best she could do just come and they exchange it but no refund.

So I’ll be calling my bank to get a reimbursed because this is just disrespectful...

Im giving it two stars because the receptionist and the security guy were super nice. Prior to visiting, I called ahead to make sure they had what i needed in stock. The Receptionist stayed on the phone with me for a good ten minutes. She was patient, nice, super helpful. If I can give her 5 stars I would. When I got to the location (30 minutes later) and asked for my products the Budtenders we're not so nice. The process felt really rushed(mind you, there was only one other person the club with me. They were not busy at all), but not before telling me they don't have what I needed. When I further explained the product (I didn't remember the name of it) The Budtender said, I quote , "I know the menu, we don't have that" and further repeated her self twice more "I know the menu"... "ill just bring you what I have". She walked away to search the drawer, and I ended up walking away to ask the receptionist the name of the item I needed so I can tell the Bartender the exact name. When I walked back in, the girl said she in fact did have it. 🤦🏽‍♀️. I was going to pay for my item and leave because i was so done with the transaction. But I had to go to my car to get cash. I only had a credit card and they charged extra to use it. When I went back, another Budtender assisted me. I was so glad in that moment but later realized. This guy shared the same energy the other girl had. He in fact did help me with a question of mine and recommended a flower. But you can tell he really wasn't into helping me out. Once again the process was rushed so at that point i just wanted to get out of there. I payed for my items and left. Due to the two budtenders, but mainly the girl with red hair. I wouldn't give them any stars if it wasn't for the two nice people in the front. Cannabis clubs are not only recreational environments but they are also medical. Their customer service should be 100%. There are many options to look over, they should be more than willing to help. I didnt take it personal but sheesh. It really ruined my first time at their club. I'm only going back if I love my product and I can't find it...
