We absolutely love discovering small, local delis in the Sunset—they always feel like a well-kept secret, known only to those lucky enough to stumble upon them. Clancey’s is no exception!
Conveniently located just a short walk from the beach, this spot is perfect for grabbing a freshly made sandwich and enjoying it oceanfront. And trust me, you’ll want to savor every bite.
We ordered the New Yorker and the Club, and both were absolutely delicious! Every sandwich is made to order, with the option to customize with fresh veggies and condiments, making it easy to get exactly what you want. Plus, the portion sizes are fantastic for the price—generous without being overwhelming.
Beyond the sandwiches, Clancey’s also stocks a great selection of drinks and snacks, making it an ideal one-stop shop before heading out for a beach day.
What really made our visit special was the staff. They were incredibly polite, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. Watching them interact with their regulars was such a heartwarming experience—you can tell this place has a strong sense of community.

Read moreI love the Sunset because of delis like Clancey's. You just don't see these mom and pop shops in other more gentrified parts of the city. Clancey's serves up some great deli sandwiches. You can make your own or pick one of their ~10 presets. They all looked delicious. I went with The Rodney, which is pastrami, chicken salad, and gouda. It was a strange combination but sounded intriguing, so I went with it. I added avocado, got all the normal toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, etc etc), and got it on sourdough. All in all, it was a great sandwich. The chicken salad got a little monotonous towards the end but added some nice moisture. I also had a bite of the Barbie's Delight, which is turkey, cranberry sauce, pesto, and havarti. That...
Read moreFreaking amazing sandwiches. You would never guess a liquor store looking market to have tasty sandwiches, but I met people that just go to this market just for the sandwiches. The barbie (turkey, harvati cheese, cranberry, pesto) was good but I'd rather get it on a softer bread than the dutch bread. The Rodney is one of my favorites (pastrami, smoked gouda, and chicken salad). The chicken salad makes it so juicy! I always ask for pickles in my sandwich and it really helps moisten the dryer choices of bread or condiment combinations. 5 Stars for the deli, speed, and friendliness of staff. 4 Stars for selection of items available at the small market, albeit slightly higher prices than...
