Walked into the establishment and noticed it was a bit busy but nothing too bad, OH WAS I WRONG. First of all, the phone was ringing off the hook. Second, everyone and everything was everywhere like as if a hurricane swept through with all the disorganization. There was food here and there, the employees were literally going back and forth as if they were chickens with their heads cut off. I was welcomed by one of the line cooks and gave him my order only to be asked not once but 4 times what I wanted and I yes I understand that it’s hard to hear with the masks on but I had to yell what I wanted. Me and my friend ordered a total of 1 Bean & Cheese Taco, 1 Chicken Taco, 5 Carnitas Taco, and 3 Carne Asada Tacos. During the making of our food he kept forgetting what I wanted and kept walking away from the assembling station to either crack jokes or to point at a calendar for his coworkers for some reason. After he finished making the food the line cook just stood there with my food in his hands for a good 5 minutes starring at his coworker. I asked him what he was waiting for, he said he was waiting for his coworker to put the order in but his coworker was completely somewhere else. During the duration of waiting 5 minutes for my food the line cook would just walk away instead of putting the order in or anything to speed up the checkout process. Finally, the cashier put my order in and I received my food only to be greeted by THE GREATEST DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISSATISFACTION OF TACOS. Let me tell you and save you from the pain. Their serving size was more than generous but why have a serving that big when it tastes like SHT! I had all my tacos with pinto beans, Mexican rice, pico de gallo, and salsa. First I had the Carne Asada and BOY did it taste BLAND, NO SPICE, NO FLAVOR, NO SALT, EVEN WITH EVERYTHING AND IT WAS ALSO DRY AS HELL! I told myself to not judge them by that one so I went ahead and tried the carnitas YET AGAIN, I TASTED NOTHING! Not even a spice!? At this point NEVER in my life have I been so infuriated by a single taco let alone multiple tacos. I then tried my friends chicken taco which also tasted bland but better than the rest of the meats surprisingly. Her bean and cheese taco was you’ve guessed it, ridiculous! They tried to make up the lack of a small piece of cheese with rice and beans. At this point I’m fed up and never in my life have I had such a let down of a food experience. Del Taco would’ve honestly been better. 2 hours later and now the upset stomach has settled in. It was ABSOLUTE SHT! Even SHT would say...
Read moreMaybe I’ve eaten here 500 times. I’m an avid taqueria eater. The poor reviews is mostly because they’re not ordering the right things. Order correctly and I’m hard pressed to put any taqueria over this. Yes you gotta pay extra for chips, pico de gallo to dip it with the chips, sour cream, and guacamole.
You have to ask for the green sauce and red sauce cups which are free. And both sauces are good. The red sauce is different than any taqueria I’ve tried, it has a more savory taste than the average sour and spicy taste you would expect from salsa.
The carnitas are inconsistent but if you get lucky it’s the best. The chicken is more flavorful than other taquerias. The ingredients are flavored more than most taquerias.
For Quessidilla you need to add more cheese or they will just give you one slice.
Tacos you need to add the extras too.
Once you are familiar and stick to the favorite combinations this is better than El Farlito and LA Taqueria. And specifically this Gordos location is the best. I tried the two locations and they’re not as good but still good. The Berkeley location is good but not as good as...
Read moreUnfortunately, I can’t give a zero, but I would if I could. This is one of the worst places I’ve been to. The food was far below average, they skimmed out on basically everything, and they are not transparent on sour cream and guacamole being extra charge. The people working there will OVERCHARGE YOU!!!! I ordered 2 bean and cheese burritos and a chicken burrito that were all regular size (not even super size) and clarified I didn’t want anything extra. They ended up charging me almost $15 for one and when I asked for the breakdown, they refused to give me my receipt or tell me why I was charged $15 a burrito rather than $8.40 for the bean and cheese burritos and $9.50 for the chicken burrito. I will NEVER be going back again. Disgusted and disappointed.
We went at 8 something pm… I suggest everyone that goes later to check your total a million times before you pay!!! They are taking advantage of people they think might be partying and/ or not paying attention to the games...
