Horrible!!! Served BLEACH to us instead of drinking water today about 11 am and we were just discharged by hospital ER about 7 pm. I am a professor working for the university of Missouri and traveling with my parents in San Francisco these days. We went Lou's Fish Shack for lunch and asked for glasses of water. Horribly, the waitress got us BLEACH rather than water in our glasses. I took a big sip and swallowed and my mom had a small sip and swallowed. We immediately felt bad burning in our throats and stomachs. We started to cough so bad and I tried to vomit multiple times with tears in my eyes. That was NOT the diluted bleach smell left on dishes without rinsing. It was BLEACH with intolerable level of concentration in our glasses. It was so horrible and I felt SO sick of my burning throat and stomach, so I asked the manager to call emergency. My mom and me just spent more than 7 hours in ER for medical treatment and drinking more than 10 big jars of clean water, and I badly vomited multiple times feeling so weak. I even couldn't bear the pain when the ER doctor gently checked my stomach. We are still having the really burning throats and uncomfortable stomachs. The ER doctors asked if I could stay for an overnight observation. But since we have early flights back to Missouri tomorrow, we asked for discharging although I just vomited. The doctor asked me only eat and drink cold food and water to heal my throat that was burned by Lou's Fish Shack' bleach that they served to...
Read moreHonestly so disappointed, my boyfriend picked this place because he remembered it being amazing and it ended up being far from. Little to no actual service, even when we did stop someone to ask to order she said she had to get our waitress and no one came back for a while, the man I think was the manager just kept walking by even when we tried to stop him and he just went on helping all the tables around us. we watched two tables next to us be seated, take orders, and receive their drinks before anyone even came to talk to us. Wait staff would look DIRECTLY AT US and walked right by with their noses turned up(my only guess would be our colorful hair/ piercings/ and tattoos were the parts most not welcome because around us were mostly suburban looking families BUT THEN AGAIN a lady came in with her cat in her walker and seemed quite strange and was treated great, we watched them seat her and immediately attend to her and her friend) My boyfriend was also told he was given the wrong plate and the waiter switched them out, however his new plate had half of the beans already gone from the bowl. Over an hour in total for a roll, tacos, and a small plate of ceviche, half of which was just waiting to talk to someone. We then waited to pay so we could go and came home to find out they tried to double charge us (luckily our bank held the payment and called us) so ya, wouldn’t recommend unless maybe your so large of a group they physically have no way...
Read moreLou's Fish Shack was packed for their Alfresco dining on a beautiful sunny day, the food was acceptably good, although not extraordinary, but the service was probably the worst I've experienced in Fisherman's Wharf, over the last 15 years. Who was my server? Man? Woman? Willing to exchange goods or services for money. Hungry, and in need of seafood. Any suggestions add how I can get water, and my food ordered within a 15-minute period? The only one who seemed to cared was a bespeckled young male employee / manager, but otherwise it was a service island, no pun intended. A bowl of seafood chowder was about $10, a kid's hamburger meal was about $9, and alcoholic beverages we're in keeping for the neighborhood of the heavily touristy Fisherman's Wharf. Street parking nearby, or paid lots, wheelchair accessible first floor, a host will seat you at your table, and modest prices (again for the neighborhood). $$$ out of $$$$$. The jury's still out on recommending Lou's Fish...
