Short of Tony's, this is the closest thing I've found to authentic, NY-style pizza in SF. Crust is thin, chewy, and stays crisp, sauce is never too sweet, cheese and toppings are distributed well. Delivery times can be slow despite only living a mile and a half away (usually an hour, up to 2 on Friday and Saturday nights), but it was always worth the wait. Plan ahead!
My partner and I have also come here in person a LOT (I used to transfer on my commute at Market and Castro, so I'd pick up a slice/pizza at least once every two weeks on my way home) and while the service isn't anything to write home about, I have never had issues with staff being rude or offensive as others have mentioned. We come here for the pizza, not the service, and after three years of being regular customers, we've never had an issue with either.
Only real downside is they are cash/check-only. Pizza here isn't cheap, either, but it is average for SF (where pizza is criminally expensive across the board) so I can't fault them for...

I was told that they needed to save my seat for someone who wanted to eat inside. Part of me can understand the logic except for the fact that I was already crammed into the wall/window behind all of my friends and then had to climb back out of the cramped space as I was kicked out. It was kind of a humiliating experience and I don't think this is a professional way to run a business. The man at the restaurant also came off as disrespectful like he was talking to a child and not a grown man. Giving this place two stars because my friends seemed to like their pizza... but I wouldn't know and I'm not going back...
Read moreTried to snag a slice but I had my bike with me and no lock so I brought my bike in with me. They proceeded to tell me I couldn't bring my bike in so I put it in there little hallway and they tell me I can't leave it there either. So I tell them the situation (I have no lock) and they tell me "THEY DON'T CARE, I have to leave my bike on the rack outside" where anyone could steal it. Mind you its 9pm and only a few people are inside so its not like the place is packed. In the end it worked out cause I got better pizza from mystic pizza in the lower haight (oh and I was able to bring my bike in no problem and they had twice as many...
