If i could give 0 stars, I would. From my friends POV, this is the experience that her and I had at Blush this past weekend. I had a friend come into town to visit me since moving into the city and we decided to go to Blush to meet with a friend and have a bottle of wine. your employee (unsure of his name, mustache with tattoos) came over and greeted us and asked to see our IDs. I have yet to switch my Florida drivers license to a California license since moving to San Francisco about a month ago. your bartender then proceeds to give my friend her ID back and then threw my id on the table even though my hand was reaching out for it. he scoffed and walked away and we were very confused as well as taken aback to what just happened. a few minutes later as we’re still waiting for our friend to arrive he looks at us from the bar and says “ I just wanted to let you know we probably will not be serving you guys tonight.” at this point we were very confused and i asked him why we were being denied when we are both over the age of 21. his response was that he “didn’t like our id’s” assuming it is because we are from florida. now i am a queer woman who lives in san francisco and i have come to your establishment before with the same bartender and NEVER had this issue. we wanted to come to what we thought was a safe space for me as well as my friend who we were waiting for. I think it was completely unacceptable that we were treated this way due to him not liking our licenses. I am well aware of the political climate we are in currently as well as the political views of the state of Florida. in no way, shape or form do i agree with any of Floridas politics and what is happening in this country. i think it’s completely unprofessional to judge and then decided not to serve based off of that. we completely accepted what your bartender said and left absolutely shocked and embarrassed that he did that in front of the entire establishment. again i have been to blush multiple times without an issue in the past but this was completely uncalled for. i don’t plan to come back to blush ever again being that your staff member was incredibly rude and his actions were unacceptable. i completely understand that places have the right to refuse service to anyone but we were nothing but respectful and the reasoning is quite honestly bullshit. i just wanted to let whatever management know what occurred and i hope that anyone who comes from out of state does not have the same experience as us. Blush seems like a safe space that is accepting to all humans especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Unfortunately i again, a queer woman did not get that...

Scott J.Elite 2022 Los Angeles, CA 554373446 3/12/2022 Adorable and unpretentious wine bar located in the heart of The Castro. Service was relaxed and friendly, the ambiance was cute, and the wine selection was perfect for my palette. I was shockingly surprised with how tasty the ravioli was, so cheesy and fresh. Definitely a hidden gem and a spot I'd gladly go back to.
Sophie V.Elite 2022 Chicago, IL 1452168 6/10/2021 1 photo Blush is a cute quick stop for wine and a quick bite. I went for dinner but the food was limited so we only had an appetizer and went elsewhere for a full meal. It was an interesting wine cellar vibe, dark ish and quiet. I can't recall the wine, but there is such a variety here for every taste. As for food, we got the smoked salmon ravioli. It was okay, heavy cheese with smoked salmon chunks that gave it that smokey and fishy flavor. Not a ravioli, but a solid appetizer. Wish there was a better food selection, but their focus is their wines. Definitely come here for wine and vibes, maybe not the food but it's not bad.
Smoked Salmon Ravioli
Ken W. San Francisco, CA 4422 9/22/2022 I enjoyed some apps here with my wife before heading out to dinner. If you are looking to eat dinner, then this isn't the place for you. It's a great place for some nice appetizers and great drinks. The place wasn't packed but most of the tables and bar section were full. We had to flag down the server a couple of times to take our order and get the check. Luckily, we didn't have to be somewhere at a certain time. I would go back since it's a great place to chill, have some wine and share some small plates.
Ell B.Elite 2022 San Mateo, CA 712514 11/21/2021 Not a fan. Limited wine choices and they wouldn't let us split the tab. Customer service was ... ok? Not at all what I was expecting at this price point

The atmosphere is dark and cozy. You can really feel like you are in your own little world there.
Bartenders were great. They were very attentive and friendly. When we didn't know what to get or what something was, they happily explained without any attitude that sometimes you get when servers are impatient or irritated at questions that they should be answering as part of the experience.
If you get hungry, they have a really nice menu with a large variety of items to choose from depending on what you are hungry for or how hungry you might be. I recommend the large board. It had just the right selection of cheeses and meets to pick at while enjoying your drinks.
It isn't cheep, but it isn't outrageous either. Definitely worth the money for the experience, level of service, and quality of drink and food. Check it out, you won't be disappointed and I do plan to visit again...
