Piqueo’s was lots of ups and much more downs.
Perhaps the worst part was the Papa a la huancaína, which is usually one of my favorite things to order at Peruvian places. The sauce was pretty much straight up Aji and I felt they were very cheap with the egg considering the price.
The short rib wasn’t much better with way too much tomato flavor, although the meat was definitely good. We also liked the yucca fries that came with it.
The service was really inattentive. They have a 90 minute time limit, but despite that it was really hard to get the servers attention and I ordered a beverage that never arrived at our table and I have no clue if we were charged because they closed us out while I was waiting nearby 20 minutes just to use their one bathroom.
The Tequenos were a bright spot - we liked the fried wonton and Oaxaca cheese was really delicious.
We wanted to get dessert, but it was so hard to get the servers attention, even when they were at the table right next to us. Finally we ordered it a Panna Cotta and it was also disappointing with a rice like addition and very minuscule amount of fruits on the side.
Overall, I felt this place is a good date vibe, but the food and service do not much up. I wouldn’t...
Read moreHORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I had a reservation here on Saturday night and the people who work here were extremely rude, I came in by 8:30 and first they starred at me for 5 mins before even saying Hi Welcome! Basic restaurant stuff!!! Then this tall girl came to me with such a horrible attitude just to let me know that the kitchen close at 9, I was like AH OK, why do you even take reservations after 8???? They gave a table next to the restrooms and I literally feel on a rush the entire time, we order 4 plates and we realized that we wanted to add something else because plates were small but no one came to check on us, exactly by 9:00 we asked someone from their staff and She told us that Kitchen was closed so we couldn't order anything else, we literally ate in less than 40 mins, they didn’t offer desserts so we had to asked for them and at the end if it wasn’t enough the same tall girl threw the check on us. I really don't understand how could they have so unhappy people working in this place, they literally make you feel as if they are doing you a favor to serve you food!!! Such a shame because food was good but with that type of service for sure I'll never...
