Pompei's Grotto — Restaurant in San Francisco

The rudest people ever. We were 6 of us and we wanted to be seated outside. We asked the hostess how long is the waiting, she said 15-20 minutes, but we have to wait. We said no problem. We waited for like 25 minutes and in the meantime the hostess was seating people without trying to accommodate our seating. I mentioned to her and she made some changes around to have us seated. While we were waiting another group of 5 arrived and the didn’t have a preference on seating so they were seated inside. While the hostess was working to seat us the group of 5 come outside along with an older guy who called himself general manager who wanted to seat them at the table cleared for us. When the hostess seated us a woman from the group of 5 started to call me names. I went to say something to the older guy asking how he allows that and he just told me that I can leave if I don’t like the way I am treated. And if we stay no waiter will serve us. Do not go there. Another guy showed up and he keep saying same thing, leave because nobody will serve you. What kind of...

Some friends from out of town and I went here on president's day weekend. My boyfriend and I decided to split the surf and turf dinner. I took the crab and he took the steak. His steak was all right, but my crab was AWFUL. It was a very small portion, cold, flavorless, and covered in marina...which got everywhere as the crab meat was STILL IN THE SHELL and needed to be cracked. A friend of mine with celiac's disease asked it they could substitute an unbreaded fish filet for the beer battered one that came with the fish tacos. The waitress replied that they could not...even though they are a primarily seafood restaurant, apparently they did not have any unbreaded seafood that would fit the bill. She settled for some (again, flavorless) shrimp tacos. They also add have a $15 minimum per person and 5% included fee for some bizarre reason. We all left still hungry after our meals and went to In-N-Out across the street. It was probably the most expensive bad meal I've ever had. Will never go there again and I would not...

My mom and I were walking by and saw the sign in front that said $7 fish and chips/clam chowder. Lies! They use that to draw you in when the actual prices are much higher. We called them out on it and they responded by saying it’s a small side dish. NO where on the sign or menu was that specified. We ordered calamari and fish tacos which we refused to pay for because it was some of the worst food I’ve ever received at such a high price. We’re from the Bay Area! We know what fresh calamari and fish should taste like!!! It’s was stale, rubbery and inedible. The service was even worse. We told our waiter not to put salsa on the fish but on the side, and he said of course like it was a ridiculous request. But the food still came out with the salsa which he didn’t even change, and he said it was just some tomato and that we’re fine. Pick de Gallo is a salsa? Lol and then he just ignored us. They were, pun intended, “crabby”...
