I rarely post unless I have an exceptionally good or bad experience. Unfortunately this was the latter. This was their soft opening. We got there at 10:44 am and waited about 10 min. We had front row view of the disorganized service. They were slow to take orders, clear tables, take checks, and seat people even with 4 waitresses. We watched a disgruntled couple paying at the counter because they waited so long at their table. I had to eventually remind the hostess/waitress that there was an empty table for us in the back before she seated us. Okay so to be fair the wait was 12 min, not bad. I asked to order right away because I knew where this was going if I just sat and waited. They didn't come back so I walked to the counter and watched her painfully put in my order, but she was sweet and was trying. I sat back down and waited. I also had to get up to ask for water that i already asked for earlier. We thought the table next to us was done eating, but after a long time their food came and we were shocked. We knew we were going to be waiting a long time for the food. After 30 min, I checked on our order and waitress was apologetic, explaining that it was their soft opening. After 40 min, our food finally came but my family grumpy for sure. Food was very average. I will say that the French toast was pretty fluffy, but it did soggy towards the end. The chicken with the chicken and waffles was weirdly chalky, bland, and dry. Waffle was okay, average. Breakfast banh mi had a nice presentation but I can't speak on the flavor since I didn't try it. I walked up to counter to get the check as I didn't want to wait another hour like family next to us, by then I knew the drill. Waitress printed out the wrong check which I quickly pointed out. She printed one and then another, comping our coffee as an apology. I appreciated that. I understand that this is a soft opening but 40 minutes wait time for food and my need to walk up to ask for every little thing is not pleasant, enjoyable, or acceptable. If you do go, just be mentally...

Sitting at 545 Point Lobos Ave., this hidden gem isn’t just about food; it’s about the whole experience. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting aroma of homemade dishes pulls you in. The black-and-white checkered floors and elegant décor give it a Parisian bistro feel, while the ocean views remind you that you’re in one of the most breathtaking spots in the city. I tried the wild mushroom and goat cheese omelet, and let’s just say—it did not disappoint. Light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it came with crispy homemade potatoes and a house-made jam that added just the right touch of sweetness. The fresh arugula on top? A simple but brilliant touch. And then there’s the bread—crisp on both sides, just the way it should be. The focus on organic, fresh ingredients shines through in every bite, making each dish feel both comforting and elevated. Now under the new ownership of Chef Alfred Schilling, a renowned French chef, the restaurant blends classic French techniques with California’s finest ingredients. The result? Food that’s elegant yet unfussy, sophisticated yet comforting. Seal Rock Inn Restaurant isn’t just a place to grab a bite—it’s a place to sit back, enjoy, and savor the moment. Make your reservation. Read moreI only ordered a sparkling water but the emphasis of this review is the horrible service. My friend desperately had to use the bathroom, visibly slouching with her hand over her bladder from the pain of needing to pee. I told the lady that she could charge me anything for absolutely any drink, just give me the code for my friend. She lists out all the drink options and I interrupt her the first time with "anything please, my friend is in pain" out of desperation and no anger YET. I was ready with apple pay unlocked in my hand. Then she is like "you have to choose something". As we were purchasing, we kept requesting the code. She made the transaction a lot longer than it had to be, not giving the code until AFTER WE PAID. There was an insane lack of sympathy and only an eye for money. I understand that it is restaurant policy. However, as soon as we presented ourselves as desperately willing to purchase ANYTHING, we were customers already so we were entitled to some form of service besides just that sparkling water INCLUDING the bathroom. Shame on the workers who were willing to watch my best friend struggle for some petty...
