I had just given this place 5 stars, I had been there numerous times and my experience had been fine and favorable with the food and staff. Unfortunately on my last visit, I was met with an unnecessarily nervous cashier at their Noe Valley location that decided to try and unload her stress on me when I came up to order food for my assistant and I. It was before the lunch hour and I was particularly relaxed and the place was almost empty. The cashier was talking very fast so I asked her to slow and calm down; when she remained defiant and rude, I responded accordingly.
An ugly incident but what made it worse (and resulted in this one star review) is that the guy that calls himself the owner did not return my phone call to discuss the situation. I called him a few days later with my concern but he claimed it was my fault for reacting and standing up to her disrespectful behavior. I was just there for a couple of burritos, not a spiritual lesson and discrimination. Anyway, if you go there, I will not be, watch out for the...

Came to The Little Chihuahua on the recommendation of a friend and we were pleasantly surprised. Though it has a few locations in the SF area, it gives off the vibe of being a local, authentic Mexican joint.
I think you could get almost anything on the menu and be happy (Mexican food, for the most part, uses the same ingredients for different dishes). I went with an Al Pastor burrito which was BIG and came with a small side of slaw. I would definitely recommend it but not necessarily over other things on the menu, as I didn’t have anything else.
What I would recommend, however, is to take advantage of the salsa bar where they have around 10 different kinds to put in little cups and eat with your food. I loved being able to sample them all, find my favorites (the pico de gallo was my favorite), and go back for more of my favorites.
Also make sure to get chips: they are unlimited!
I liked it so much that I went back to have lunch at their airport location on my way out of SF. I would...
Read moreJust OK. Have been searching for something Mexican and authentic in or near my neighborhood. The garlic shrimp taco was delicious, 5/5, the quesadilla not bad at all, 4/5. Multiple available salsa selections were great too. Fish taco - all ingredients great and fresh except the fish, funny taste and soggy. Steak burrito just OK. What was lacking however was the service. They forgot to add the beans and rice to "make it a full meal" (eventually brought for one meal but not the other) and forgot our chips, we had to ask them to bring. Though COVID protocols were enforced (e.g. vaccines checked, disposable plates and utensils only), it was odd to have a bag of chips but no plate to put them or the salsas on, ditto a place to share the quesadilla. I think if the service had been better I would...
