The Saloon — Restaurant in San Francisco

I’m still traumatized by how the lady with the blonde hair, young one who usually works during the week but was doing security last night was so rude. From the moment i walked in and i have been coming to this bar for over 5 years so I’m beyond hurt. I’m embarrassed and i will be reporting her conduct. Erica however the bar tender was so nice and apologized for the ladies behavior but that did not stop her! When i walked in security noticed me and let me in. She screamed did you card her and security told her i was a regular. I then come out to grab my coat out my car and she starts telling me how her car is better then mines and how I’m nothing and worthless. It was so strange and heartbreaking. I then go inside the last follows me inside screaming in front of everyone saying i need to buy a drink. Erica had to tell her i already did. She proceeds to say Erica saved me. I was so furious i couldn’t believe this was happening. She then stands over me and says say something i dare you and then says matter of fact get out my bar now. I have never in my life experienced anything like this in my life and at this point it was harassment and i will file a report with the city because this was nasty unprofessional behavior. If the owner cares anything about the locals he will talk with her...

I wanted to like this place but I feel like my group was disrespected. We walked in didn’t cause any scene. We bought 6 drinks at the bar with the only cash we had and tipped our bartender. We sat there and enjoyed our drinks and music. Then the performer decided to pass around the tip jar directing people to tip. Last time I checked and tip is not mandatory and if he should be paid for the performance that should have been known at the door. He shoved the tip jar in all the members of my group one by one demanding tip. We manage to find a couple dollars but didn’t have further cash and used it all drinks. The performer then demanded that he would play one song and then kick us out in a condescending tone. I’m not sure if it’s a standard to be kicked out by the bands demanding a tip but it felt rude to a group who wasn’t causing trouble and already paid for drinks. He didn’t even do it to everyone else in there....

I recently visited The Saloon Bar, was told NO PHOTOS of the bar or my dog and unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The barman was incredibly unaccommodating and seemed completely uninterested in providing any sort of decent service. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel unwelcome, barely acknowledging our presence and acting as if serving us was a chore.

What really took the cake was when one of the customers had to go behind the bar to make their own cup of coffee because the barman clearly couldn’t be bothered. It was beyond unprofessional, and yet, to our disbelief, this cheeky individual still had the nerve to expect a tip for what he called "excellent service."

There’s nothing excellent about being ignored, feeling unwelcome, and watching other customers do the bartender’s job. Safe to say, we won’t...
