Zevi Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in San Francisco

We were searching for a quick breakfast spot and decided on Zevi due to its convenient location. It's surprisingly spacious inside and very clean. We ordered at the register and seated ourselves. The staff was very kind - they honored the student discount for us even though we didn't have our badges on us which I appreciated.

There are self-serve water containers and a variety of hot sauces to choose from. I ordered the Greek omelet but was not a fan; I didn't like the combination of olives and egg and I think the fillings had a bit too much moisture. Very whelming based off of the rave reviews, ordered a side of bacon and potatoes and a zevi burrito with hot chocolate and a chai latte but all was relatively bland. The hash brown potatoes were undercooked and mushy without much browning, the bacon was thin, and the admittedly tasty hot sauce was the only real flavor in the burrito. The hot chocolate was surprisingly good but the chai latte was overwhelmingly milky. Service was good especially for how packed they were but they did forget my burrito and I had to come back for it, no big deal though it happens and I don't hold it against them at all. What a lovely surprise. We were walking from our hotel to a breakfast cafe we had found online and we walked past Zevi. It was obviously clean, looked nice, was busy but also had a couple of spare tables. All good signs to give it a try. The staff were lovely. The menu was broad ranging with many good breakfast options. We can attest that the Black Rock Benedict as well as the buttermilk pancakes were exceedingly good.
